Scenario
The magnetic contactor of an induction motor has tripped.

Initial Condition A circuit with forward/reverse circuit is to be interconnected.

1. Explain to the students the correct procedure, initial condition and objective of the
activity
2. Wrong interpretations may result to non-achievement of the objective.
Briefing 3. Wrong adjustment and power supply may damage the equipment therefore proper
care and handling must be always observe.
4. Assessor has the right to stop the assessment if there are any deviations from the
procedures and failure to behave accordingly.
Before the start of the exercise proper, give the students ample time to:
 Familiarize with the equipment used for the particular exercise
 Confidently operate the particular equipment to be used

2. Interconnect the circuit
3. Energize the circuit
4. Explains how the holding contact function of the relay works.

1. Change the speed motor by adjusting the potentiometer
1. All students will simultaneously be stationed in the work area and prepare the safety
paraphernalia to be used for the activity.
