logo
Name of Proposed Club: Ilustrado Book Club

General Description of Proposed Club:

Ilustrado Book Club is a book club open to all Lapisicans from grades 7-12. It will be a community where
Lapisicans will be able to bond over their interest in reading, and will further challenge their thinking
skills.

Goals of Proposed Club:

1. We aim to encourage more Lapiscians to get into reading by providing a space where they are able
to learn, think, and grow as readers.
2. We aim to increase the members’ literacy and critical thinking skills through essential reading.
3. We aim to create a group that will encourage free thought and speech by letting members
participate in discussions about subjects that interest them.

Mission of Proposed Club:

The Ilustrado Book Club aims to expand members' personal literary experience by reading and
discussing works chosen by the students in a friendly and open atmosphere. The club provides a safe
and welcoming environment for teens to develop a lifelong interest in and appreciation for reading and
learning.
