As what I have learned in LEA 2 subject which is the Comparative Models in

Policing is learning what are the policing systems here in our country and also in
other country. This module consists of four Modules and every modules I learned
different lessons. These lessons that I have learned are surely be able to help me in
the future by understanding this subject.

In Module 1 which talks about comparative policing, types of police system,

and what are the models of police system and its policing models. I have learned in
this Module the definitions of important terms related to policing such as police,
comparative research, policing, and law enforcement. In addition, I have
remembered the goals of policing which is one of the essential part in learning this
module. We must know that policing aims to enforce laws, preserve peace, prevent
crimes, to protect civil rights and liberties, and also to provide service. Moreover, this
module tackles different theory on how crime occurs in a certain situation or event.

In Module 2 which tackles Law enforcement in Global perspective, this are

more focused on globalization. In this module, I have learned that through
globalization it can help to improve and develop more strategies to cope up problems
and issues that are country might face. However, despite the good effects of
globalization in our country it also leads to another issues and problems or threats if
it is not done properly such as smuggling of goods and other products, it can made a
conflict between nations, can increase human rights violations such as mass killing
and others. In order to make and keep things right, we must understand these ways
on how to gain success in globalization through people empowerment such as
communicate you vision, lead with feet and not with lips, establish a new mindset,
provide problem solving tools and others.

In Module 3 which is about the comparative policing (Law enforcement

agencies). In this module, I have learned the different law enforcements in each
country and what are their jobs, their different ranks, their minimum qualification, and
their entrance age. This module helps me to determine the differences and
commonalities of practice, systems and processes in law enforcements jobs in
different country.
Some of the country that I have remembered their ranks are Philippines which
had the highest rank in commissioned ranks – Police General, and its lowest rank is
Police Lieutenant. In Non-commissioned rank it had the highest rank which is the
Police Executive Master Sergeant and its lowest rank is the patrolman. Additionally,
some law enforcements here in our country are the NBI which stands for National
Bureau of Investigation, PDEA which also stands for Philippine Drug Enforcement
Agency.
In the last Module, I have learned the history of Interpol and what its job – to
facilitate international police cooperation. In this module, I have learned that the full
name of Interpol before is not International Criminal Police Organization but
Internation Criminal Police Commission in 1923. The new name of interpol now was
adopted in year 1956. The Interpol focuses on crimes internationally such as
terrorism, war crimes, drug and human trafficking, smuggling of weapons and other
products, and others. I also learned that there are 195 countries members in Interpol
which uses four languages.
The subject CRIM 3 which is the Human Behavior and Victimology helps me
to understand why some crimes occurs and the reasons why some people commits
crimes. This subject helps me to identify those different reasons and to understand
and learn the behaviour of each person. There are different disorders and its
symptoms stated in this module, that despite of some quite similarities in definitions
of each disorder, there are keywords in order to understand that disorder.

In Module 1 of this subject which tackles about the Introduction of Human

Behavior. In this lesson I have learned that the reason why some people commit
crime is because of inability to make right decisions because they have impaired
function in brain because of some illnesses or diseases. Additionally, it helps me to
differentiate the behaviour and abnormal behaviour which is important to know in
order to understand the person’s feelings and behavior. Also, abnormal behaviour is
not just the only one that causes a person to commits a crime, having mental
disorders or mental inability also.

In Module 2 which tackles on emotions of a person including depression,

stress, and frustration. It also tackles on how to cope up these negatives emotions
and what are the defense mechanisms to prevent it from happening or at least to
lessen that negative emotion. In this module, I have learned that small sadness can
be turn into sorrow If it is not control properly that is why we need to be nice to other
people because we did not know what problems they have faced or what they feel. I
have understand that anyone can have depression and it is not an easy problem that
can be solved right away. Depression last longer than frustration. And in order to
fight this depression we must know how to socialize, we can also help others who
are in need and also we should have a good connection to God through prayer.

In Module 3 which tackles different disorders including anxiety, delusional,

mood, and personality disorder, Schizophrenia, sexual disorder, and somatoform
and dissocative disorders and lastly victimology. I have learned in this module the
differences of feeling anxiety and fear which we mostly understand it in wrong. As
anxiety is a feeling of fear or tension caused by a certain object. For example you
have a phobia of spiders, and whenever you encountered or see spiders you
suddenly felt anxiety or became panic just because you see something you are
afraid of. However in fear, it is a emotional response to something that gives as a
threat. For example, while walking outside you encountered a hold-upper, that is
when the time you will fear because you are afraid to get hurt if you will know follow
what he wants.
Moreover, I have also learned the different personality disorders which are
clustered into three. Cluster A are those Odd and Eccentric Behaviors, thise are a
kind of behaviours that lack in socializing as they don’t feel others as trustworthy.
Second is the Clister B which are the Dramatic, emotional, and erratic behaviour.
These are those psychopaths, sociopaths, suiciders, and those person who are self-
importance and lack of attention. Laslty, Cluster C which are the anxious and fearful
behaviours. These are the person are dependent on others.
Lastly, I have learned some of the sexual disorders that leads to sexual
dysfunction and also can commit crimes by having feeling of a sexual desire to
things or someone that they should not have feelings for.
