And then we saw kites
Bumping into the walls.
The wires got tangled
On pictures and lights,
Boom! Bump! Boom! Bump!
Tali and I were very frightened.
Thing One and Thing Two
Carried themselves
Up and down and to every side,
They flew kites in all the rooms.
Suddenly we saw, on a wire above,
Mother’s new dress hung upon it.
The table flipped, the dress crumpled,
One of the kites got stuck on the bed.

They leaped forward and back, ,‫ְוָקְפצוּ ְלָפִנים ְוָקְפצוּ ְלָאחוֹר‬
And what they did was awful and bad. .‫וָּמה ֶשָׁעשׂוּ ֶזה ָאֹים ְונוָֹרא‬
I said: :‫ָאַמ ְרִתי‬

When Mother gets back ‫ְכֶּשִׁאָמא ָתבוֹא‬

And our fish shook with fear.

Do you see? Your mother is back!
Oy, what will she do to us?

Oy, what will she say
