FisioTest is an educational innovation project which belongs to the fields of physiotherapy and new
technologies of communication. Several multimedia resources such as audio files, video, flash and
image, have been used in order to create a web page focused on physiotherapy, specially on
orthopaedic tests, which are used to assess the patient and to detect the causes of their
musculoskeletal disorders. The purpose of this project is to be a learning tool designed for physical
therapists, students of physiotherapy, professors and general audience, which makes possible to
learn anatomy, physiology, orthopaedic tests and their clinical procedure on the most common
disarrays. It also lets the users to self-avaluate their knowledge about the significance of this tests,
permitting the student to participate actively on their learning process. A contact form allows the user
to interact with FisioTest, as well as a blog and social networks, in order to propose or to
communicate any suggestion to the authors.

Methods

A web page has been created (www.uv.es/fisitest) in three languages (Spanish, Catalonian and
English), with free educational material (under Creative Commons License) designed with image,
video, audio, flash and html editors, which is also linked with a blog (www.blogs.uv.es/fisitest), a
YouTube channel and social networks (Facebook and Twitter).

Results

The results obtained were based on two features: usefulness and users’ satisfaction. On the one
hand, there was used an online tool (Google Analytics) to measure the number of times the website
was consulted, the users’ location while they were managing FisioTest and the type of devices which
were used to visit the website. On the other hand, a satisfaction questionnaire was sent to every
student of the Degree of Physical Therapy at University of Valencia during the month of November
(2013), who exposed their opinion about this learning tool. Once all the data was recollected, we
realized that it was significatively more helpful for students of third and fourth year, than for students
of first and second course, maybe because they were able to connect the new concepts with the
knowledge that they already had.

Conclussions

Results showed that:

1. Mobile phones were more frequently used to consult the website, so that in the future there
probably will be created an application for cell phones with all the material used in the website, to
make easier the learning process.

2. Students indicated high levels of satisfaction, so it suggests that learning through an internet
resource such as FisioTest could be very helpful as an education tool used for students. However,
this webpage should be consulted by more people to confirm the results.
