#2 VIDEO
10/31/22 During creative play, Joshua uses the dough roller to flatten the clay given to him by

Ms. Kate when she asks him “what are you going to do with that? Referring to the roller. He also

uses his hands and states “I rolled it up”. He hands Ms. Kate the spatula as she asks. Afterwards,

repeats “I made a bag” to get Ms. Kate’s attention and presents it to her by holding up what he

created.

 KDI: Creative Art. Making models out of clay, blocks or other material.

 Supportive Idea: give children clay/playdough and show them something to mimic using

the clay/playdough. Ex: showing children a circle and they choose a circle cut out/try to

round the clay into a circle/item being shown.

08/22/22 Missy and Jamie play in the sand box with Ms. Janie, Missy explains “there’s candles

hiding in it, joke candles” and that’s why Ms. Janie needs to dig and find another button. Jamie

says “not joke candles” Missy recites “I had to blow out a joke candle one time” Ms. Janie asks

“what’s a joke candle?” Missy explained “I had a joke candle in mt donut one time, a joke candle

is when you blow it out, it just comes up again” Jamie follows after “No, that’s not it. A joke

candle is when you try to blow your candle out but it doesn’t even go out”

 Supportive Idea: Show children different items and ask about a time they recall using the

item, seeing, how and where. Listen to children and respond.

VIDEO #14

11/1/22 Bradley counts his graham cracker he broke into pieces in numerical order by

recounting the same pieces. He recites “I have 47 crackers!” 3 times.

 KDI: Mathematics. Counting.

 Supportive Idea: label bottles with numbers and have the kids count and drop any

small object in. ex: pompoms

VIDEO #16:

4/17/22: Lemi draws on a piece of a paper with a black marker as she never takes her eyes off the

paper or lifts her hand from the sheet.

 KDI: Creative Art.: Drawing and painting. Language, Literacy and

Communication; writing in various ways: drawing, scribbling etc

 Supportive Idea: Provide children with markers, paint and brushes, crayons and

colorful sheets of paper and have them draw anything they desire then ask them to

present and explain what they drew and colors used.

VIDEO #17:

10/29/22 Ms. Betsy siting with Layla on her lap and allows her to flip through the book

looking at all of the photos on her own and saying cooing baby sounds trying to say

words as she points at the book.

5/6/22 Kyle and Michael read to Mr. Brown the different sharks and fish. Kyle says “the shark

will eat all of these fish” Michael tells Mr. Brown “white and black fish fly and have wings” as

he throws his arms up to the air to imitate flying.

Ollie by reaching out her hand “I found an e!”

10/18/2022 During sensory play, Kenzie tells Miss Tonya what a joke candle is, “we had a

candle for Myles’ cake for his birthday and it didn’t go out when he blowed it so he thought it

was a joke candle”

relations, talking with others about personally meaningful experiences.


 Supportive Idea: have children bring family photos and share traits/times spent with

that family member

VIDEO #21:

8/23/22 During group circle time, Ms. Janet tells the children about their schedule for the day

and Zong Ping is coming, and Matthew says “zoe ping is coming” Ms. Janet asks who is she and

Matthew says “she is a lady from Chinese”

 Supportive Idea: have children plan an event ex: what gets played with first during playe

time and how long

VIDEO #24:

2/3/2022 at group play at the tables, Kevin holds up the fake tv with his head inside it and

explains “I turned into a zookeeper than I turned into a wolf and then captured it” then does a

“rawr” face As if he was scaring someone.

KDI: : Language, Literacy and Communication, having fun with language: listening to stories

and poems, making up stories and rhymes

Supportive Idea: assign each child a stuffed animal to make up a story about/say what they

would do if they were that animal.
