LESSON PLAN
Content Standard:
The Learners demonstrate an understanding of:
meiosis as one of the processes producing genetic variations of the Mendelian
Pattern of Inheritance.
Performance Standard:
The Learners shall be able to:
predict phenotypic expressions of traits following simple patterns of
inheritance
Learning Competency:
The Learners shall be able to...
predict phenotypic expressions of traits following simple patterns of
inheritance (Code: S8LT-IVf-18)
I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the learners will be able to:
1. Determine the percentage and ratio of every offspring
2. Draw a punnet square to illustrate the different offspring
3. Report in class the image of the offspring.
Law of Independent Assortment- Alleles for different traits are distributed to sex
cells (& offspring) independently of one another.
This law can be illustrated using dihybrid crosses.
A.5 Motivation
Racing game- students will answer how many percentage and ratio
are there in an offspring.
B. Lesson Proper:
B.1 Activity (15min)
Concept Notes- students will be given an enough time to write the
important points of the topic.
Reporting/Presentation- students will present their output in the
class.
