DAILY LESSON LOG Teacher Ms. Janecil A. Bonza Date May 29-June 2,2023
Number of Week Week 4 Quarter Fourth
A. Content Standards The learners demonstrate an understanding of comparing mitosis and meiosis, and their role in the cell-division cycle.
B. Performance Standard The learners should be able to report on the importance of variation in plant and animal breeding.
C. Learning Competencies /
Write the LC code for each S8LT-IVd-16
Objectives:
1. Describe the different stages of mitosis in plant and animal cell
2. Give an example of a cell that undergoes mitosis
3. Explain the importance of mitosis in a cell cycle
II. CONTENT
Compare mitosis and meiosis, and their role in the cell-division cycle.
3. Textbook pages
4. Additional Materials from Gummy candies, Marking materials, Scissors, Scotch tapes and Folders
Learning Resource (LR)

IV. PROCEDURES
To introduce that there are two kinds of gametes which undergo gametogenesis.
C. Presenting
examples/instances for the
new lesson Activity 1
Materials: 2 envelopes, 2 cut out pictures
Directions: Group the students into 2. Each group will be given an envelope which contains cut out pictures the egg and the sperm cell. Each group
should assemble the cut out pictures, post it on the board, and observe what is in the picture. Each group must also select one representative to describe
their work in front of the class. They will be given 1 minute and 30 secs to do the task.
Group 1: Group 2:
Question: Do you know how these gametes undergo gametogenesis through meiosis?
E. Discussing new concepts Each group will present their output. After the report, the teacher will define what gametogenesis is and afterwards present to them the process.
and practicing new skills # 2 The teacher will explain the concept of each process of gametogenesis in egg and sperm cell. Afterwards, give feedback if the key events from their
activity relates to the concept of the pictures. (State the winner from the activity.)
Insert values integration.
F. Developing mastery Activity 3 (Making a diagram)
(Leads to Formative Materials: manila paper, crayons, marker
Assessment 3) Directions: Group the students into 4. Let them make a diagram or illustrate the process of gametogenesis in egg and sperm cell. The first two groups will
make the diagram of gametogenesis in the egg cell and the second two groups will make a diagram of gametogenesis in the sperm cell. Each group must
select a representative who will present their output in front of the class. Give them 3 minutes to do the task.
G. Finding practical Give a brief summary of the role of the meiosis in gametogenesis.
applications of concepts and
skills in daily living
H. Making generalizations
and
abstractions about the lesson
