SUPERVISION

INTRODUCTION
Supervision is one of the most important
management function in an organization. In
every organization there is provision. In a scalar
system each level in the hierarchical
organization is subject to the supervision of the
immediately above level and each employee is
subject to the control of immediate superior
person.
SUPERVISION

➢ To direct the performance or operation of an activity or


process
➢ To watch over (people) so as to ensure appropriate
behaviour

SUPERVISION IS A PROCESS
➢ Where an expert or more experienced practitioner
GUIDES and DIRECTS the performance of a less skilled
practitioner in order to help and improve the performance
➢ By which employees are given the needed resources to
accomplish their jobs

➢ To bring personal and professional growth of
employees (nurses) in order to achieve quality in
health care system
➢ To persist in the delivery of high quality of health
care services
➢ To assist and help in the development of sta to
their highest potential
➢ To interpret policies, objectives and need etc. of
the organization

coordination to avoid overlapping

personnel.

supervision
● Direct supervision
● Indirect Super
Direct Supervision
Face to Face talk with worker

autocratic

➢ Do not talk too much and too fast
Indirect Supervision
With the help of record and report of the worker and through
wrien instruction
➢ Ensuring carrying out alloed work

➢ Providing support and guidance to all worker
➢ Ensure that worker is utilizing full capacity in job
