Summary by Act

Act I
Hamlet, the prince of Denmark, whose father is believed to have died of an unknown disease,
married his late father's brother, Claudius, who became the new king of Denmark. Late at
night, guards on the battlements of Denmark's Elsinore castle are approached by Horatio,
Prince Hamlet's friend. The guards claim seeing the spirit of the late king, the ghost reappears
as they are talking, and they decide to tell Hamlet. He was intrigued by the report of the
Ghost and wishes to see it for himself because he is still grieving the death of his father.
Later, the Ghost appears to Hamlet and is genuinely the Ghost of his father, informing him
how his uncle Claudius, the newly crowned king, poisoned him. Hamlet becomes furious and
pledges to revenge his father and discover the truth.

Act II
Claudius became suspicious of Hamlet and questioned why he was acting strangely. Claudius
hired Polonius, the royal attendant, to spy on Hamlet to find out what was going on but failed
to do so. Claudius assigned Guildenstern and Rosencrantz, both old acquaintances of Hamlet,
to investigate what was going on. A troupe of actors also came upon their arrival, as part of
Hamlet's plan. He devised a play that includes sequences that duplicate his father's death, and
he intends to perform it in front of his uncle Claudius and his mother, the Queen.

Act III
During the performance, Hamlet observed Claudius' reaction, in which he interrupted the
play and went out. He ordered Hamlet to be sent away, but Hamlet was summoned by his
mother Gertrude. On his way to his mother, Hamlet saw Claudius kneeling and praying and
was tempted to kill him, but he decided to spare his life because he believed that if he killed
Claudius while praying, he would be sent to heaven rather than hell. Polonius, the royal
attendant, hides behind a tapestry in Gertrude's room, claiming to shield the Queen from her
son Hamlet. When Hamlet arrived, he spoke with his mother and heard Polonius behind the
curtain, so he stabbed the fabric, killing Polonius. Following this, Hamlet's father's ghost
arrived and advised him not to offend his mother Gertrude by continuing the revenge.

Act IV
As king Fortinbras of Norway and his army prepare to cross Denmark to conquer Poland,
Hamlet went to England as an emissary. While going, he learned that Claudius intends to
have him assassinated when he arrives. He plans to send Rosencrantz and Guildenstern on
ahead, and both will die in his place, while he travels back to Denmark. In her grief over her
father's death, Ophelia, Polonius' daughter, becomes insane and drowns.

Act V
On his trip to Denmark, Hamlet saw Horatio in a graveyard and struck up a talk about life
and death. When Ophelia's burial procession arrived, Hamlet addressed Laertes, Polonius' son
and Ophelia's brother, who had taken over the court from his father. A duel between Hamlet
and Laertes was arranged. Claudius joins forces with Laertes to murder Hamlet with a
poisoned blade and drink. Gertrude, on the other hand, consumes the poisoned wine and dies
as a result. Another twist occurred, and both Laertes and Hamlet were wounded by the
poisoned sword, and Laertes died. Hamlet also murders Claudius before he is killed by the
poison sword and allows his companion Horatio to describe what transpired to the new king
Fortinbras.

King Arthur together with King Urience, and Sir Accolon of Gaul is hunting in the forest

served them all kind of meats and wines. The three was given separate rooms to sleep, and

Camelot, King Arthur found himself in a dark dungeon in which he discovered was in the
castle of Sir Damas, a traitor who is looking for a knight to fight for him as champion to
defeat his brother Sir Outzlake for the inheritance. A damsel whom introduced herself as
daughter of Sir Damas which was sent by Morgan le Fay who was King Arthur’s half-sister
came to the dungeon to persuade King Arthur to fight as champion for the freedom of all the
imprisoned knights in which he accepts. Meanwhile Sir Accolon of Gaul woke up on the
edge of a well and was approached by a dwarf sent by Morgan le Fay, the dwarf gave him the
Excalibur and the Scabbard, telling him to fight and kill a strange knight to keep his promise
to her, and she will reward him with love in exchange of the knights head. Then a knight and
lady, and six squires came and took him to Sir Outzlake who is deeply wounded and disabled.
Having heard the message that his brother Sir Damas has found a champion he was
distressed, but Sir Accolon of Gaul offered to take his place and fight. The next day, Arthur
prepared to fight for Sir Damas. The knights and Morgan le Fay's damsel gave him a copy of
Excalibur. Arthur and Accolon, unaware of one other’s identity, fought until they were both
thrown to the earth. They were evenly matched, but Accolon had Excalibur, and no matter
how hard Arthur fought, he could not defeat Accolon. Then, damsel Vivien, lady of the lake
arrived to protect Arthur because she knew that Morgan le Fay wanted him dead. King Arthur
realized his sword was false, but he continued to fight through the pain. Arthur’s sword broke
against Accolon’s helm and he only fought with his shield, his courage never wavered.
Accolon asked Arthur to yield, but the king refused, saying he would rather die with honor
than live with shame. Arthur attacked with his shield and sword handle, driving Accolon back
three paces when Accolon next struck at the king, Excalibur fell from his hand. Arthur
reclaimed his sword and quickly drove Accolon to the ground. Suddenly, Arthur remembered
the magical ship and realized he was engaging in his half-sister's treachery. Arthur reveled his
identity, and Accolon asked for mercy. Arthur called him a traitor, but admitted that he
believed Accolon to be was under Morgan le Fay’s enchantments. He swore vengeance on
her instead of on Accolon. Sir Damas was then ordered by King Arthur to release the knights
and hand up his manor to Sir Outzlake. The King then went to rest in a neighboring Abbey.

struggle with Arthur. With the word that Excalibur and its scabbard had been returned to him,
the king delivered the knight's body to Morgan le Fay as a present.
Mulan

Reflection

"Feminism isn't about making women stronger. Women are already strong, it's about
changing the way the world perceives that strength." – G.D. Anderson. The role of feminism
in "Mulan" represents the type of women in today's culture, strong, independent, intelligent,
and brave. Women in the twenty-first century can be as brave and strong as men, we are
capable and we are
In the movie after failing at the matchmaking, Mulan disappoints and humiliates her
family in front of the whole village. During that time people believes that gender has
something to do with how a person acts and it reflects for both their identity and for their
family honor. Inferring that Mulan didn't act in her family's best interests but rather her own,
Mulan sings the song "Reflection" to convey her inner feelings after becoming a shame to her
family. She realizes that what the traditions and beliefs of her family and society doesn’t
reflect who she truly is inside, she feels like a different person and is not happy about what is
expected of her. She is strong-willed, bold, and self-sufficient, which the society of the period
does not allow. I believe the moment of her cutting her hair represents her leaving behind and
letting go of expectations. She loves and cherishes her family so much that she is willing to
go to any length to honor them. This was demonstrated when she decided to go to war as
their family's representative on behalf of her father. She disproved the critics by
demonstrating strength and intelligence in training and on the battlefield as the first woman to
join and win a war. She defied all gender norms, demonstrating that a woman can be tough
and determined. I'd like to highlight the final scene of the movie, when she came home with
the sword and medal to give to her father as a sign of respect and honor to their family, her
father did not even look at the sword and medal, instead he embraced his daughter and told
her that all that matters is her, and that it's an honor to have her as a daughter, which was an
amazing scene of acceptance and love.
Don’t ever let limitations stop you , bravery opens doors of opportunities. Sometimes all
we need to succeed in life is the courage to stand up for what we believe in, and if we do that,
perhaps doors of opportunity that have previously been closed will now open. Mulan didn't
let societal pressures or gender disparities prevent her from standing up for her family,
despite the fact that at the time she lived in, it was commonly accepted that women should be
seen but not heard.

First Knight

Reflection

First Knight is a fantastic movie that shows elements of romance, ritual, and heart-
pounding drama. In this beautiful and moving tale of the Knights of the Round Table,
Lancelot, a man who never shies away from the broad road. King Arthur yearns to savor his
love for this lady but is hindered in the endeavor by Malagant, a former Knight of the
Roundtable with a thirst for power. Guinevere of Leonesse is a passionate, courageous, and
articulate woman who is set to wed Arthur, a king who, in her eyes, "wears his power so
lightly."
One thing that I have learned is that King Arthur is a great King, he is just and noble, the
reason why people respects and adores him. The way he rules Camelot and he’s kindness
towards his people which I also think makes Guinevere adore him. I see a great ruler in King
Arthur’s character, even on his last stand he didn’t surrender in the face of the enemy.
Though when he witnessed his wife in the arms of Lancelot he couldn’t control his anger
which led to a court hearing in front of the people of Camelot, which showed that even a
noble and composed man could still be driven with anger. Lancelot on the other hand is an
outlaw he lives where life takes course, he has no fear for he has nothing to lose, when he met
Guinevere he was captivated by her beauty and his love proves that he could have a purpose
of living. He respected King Arthur for he believed and trusted Lancelot, and Lancelot looked
up to the King and he never meant to betray him. Guinevere has a heart of a true Queen, she
is noble and kind. She loves her people, and is a strong willed woman. She is torn between
Arthur and Lancelot whom she both cared for, her heart speaks for Lancelot and her mind
chooses Arthur. Their love triangle is truly extraordinary. Malagant on the other hand is
greedy and thirsty for power and authority, he is beyond cruel and self centered. He is the
cause of chaos. The round table in the castle of Camelot explains equality and brotherhood,
their respect for one another and the symbol of their unity. In the end King Arthur had chosen
love and forgiveness over hatred, an even greater example would have been if he had released
Guinevere from her marriage to him and had then sent Lancelot and her to live out their lives
happily in her old kingdom. True love is not selfish.
Great power comes with great responsibility. One must first recognize that as a ruler,
one might have both good and terrible repercussions. People's lives are in your hands, and
love is a powerful weapon; with love, anything is possible. Doing things for our loved ones
allows us to harness the power of love. All can be overcome by love.
