I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard The learner demonstrates understanding of how world literature and other text types
serve as ways of expressing and resolving personal conflicts, also how to use strategies in
linking textual information, repairing, enhancing communication public speaking,
emphasis markers in persuasive texts, different forms of modals, reflexive and intensive
pronouns.
B. Performance Standards The learner composes a short but powerful persuasive text using a variety of persuasive
techniques and devices.
C. Learning Competencies/Objectives N10OL–Ie-3.16.1: Employ the techniques in public speaking in a sample public
speaking situation
D. Learning Objectives At the end of the lesson the students will be able to:
a) describe the techniques in effective public speaking
b) employ techniques in public speaking in a sample public speaking situation

A. Review - Let’s start by having a quick recap. Is
there someone who can still remember
our previous lesson? - It’s about the factors and ethics of public
speaking.
- Great! Thank you so much. It is about the
factors of public speaking. It seems that
the previous discussions were very well
taken.
B. Establishing the Purpose - Before we start our lesson for today. May
I ask who among you has experiences
with speaking in public? What were your
experiences? Kindly share with the whole
class. (A student will share his/her experience)
- Thank you for sharing your experiences.
So now let me ask you how can you, as
listeners differentiate an effective speaker
from an ineffective speaker? - An effective speaker is confident,
accurate, and is able to convey the
message to the audience effectively;
he/she is also able to achieve the four
primary goals of public speaking, while
an ineffective speaker is not able to
convey the message effectively.
- Yes that is correct. Are you all familiar
with the four goals of public speaking? - Yes Ma’am. It is to inform, persuade,
inspire and entertain the audience.
- Well done! Therefore we must master the
use of each public speaking techniques.

- I expect you to be ready because at the


end of this lesson I will require you to
create and present your own speech. Are

C. Presentation of new lesson - Now we will have a short activity.

techniques that we will be discussing
