Please complete the following activity

1. Define moments and provide its formula and unit.

A moment is the turning effect of a force. Moments act about a point in a clockwise or anticlockwise
direction. Moment (M) is measured in newton-metres (Nm) force (F) is measured in newtons (N)

2. Differentiate between Distance and displacement and Velocity and acceleration.

Displacement is a vector quantity that refers to "how far out of place an object is"; it is the object's overall
change in position. While distance is a scalar quantity that refers to "how much ground an object has
covered" during its motion.

3. What formula relates velocity and acceleration

v= v = Δs/Δt. (velocity)

The formula for velocity is change in displacement divided by change in time.

Acceleration (a) is the change in velocity (v) over the change in time (t); equation a = Δv/Δt.

4. There are four equations of motion, what are they?

v = u + at

s = ut + at²/2

v² = u² + 2as

s(n) = (a/2) (2n−1)

5. State acceleration due to gravity.

Acceleration due to gravity is represented by g. 9.8 /s^2

6. State what each symbol in the motion equations stands for.

v = u + at u = initial velocity; v = final velocity; a = acceleration; t = time of motion.

s = ut + at²/2 s= Displacement; u= velocity; t= time; ½ times acceleration= a;

v² = u² + 2as= final velocity (v) equals the square root of initial velocity (u) squared plus two times
acceleration (a) times displacement (s).

s(n) = (a/2) (2n−1)

s= displacement;
