Talk Task 1:
-Organise children into pairs.
-Lay out the cards and place them face down.
-Have one child select a card and turn it over.
-The child who selects the card, reads the sentences and uses the pictorial representations to fill the boxes.
-Ensure that the child’s partner agrees with the answers before they select a different card.
-Continue taking turns until all six cards have been discussed.
Talk Task 2:
-Organise children into pairs.

-One child selects a card.
-Both children use the pictures of arrays to draw out two multiplication calculations and two division calculations.
-If needed, children can recreate the arrays using counters to assist them with counting.
-Ensure that both children agree with the answers before they select a different card.
-Continue taking turns until all six cards have been discussed.
