Improved PLC/RTU Functionality
PLC – Programmable Logic Controller

Improvements:

1. Faster Response
2. Increased Memory
RTU– Remote Terminal Unit or 3. More Instructions
Remote Telemetry Unit 4. Communication Capability
– Ethernet/IP
- Modbus TCP
5. Data Logging Capability
Easy and Open Communication
1. Ethernet Communication

2. Wireless Ethernet Communication
Easy and Open Communication
3. Open Communication Protocol

3.1 Modbus – Master-Slave Communication

3.2 DNP3 – Distributed Network Protocol

DNP3 stores all changes with the date/time stamp of

when they occurred. When the RTU communicates with
the SCADA (and this can be initiated in a variety of ways)
it sends all data which has changed. So even if the
communication has been out for 8 hours, it doesn’t matter.

When communications
Wh i ti are restored,
t d allll off th

data,
t
along with each original date/time stamp will be sent.
