SOCIOLOGICAL FOUNDATIONS OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION

SOCIOLOGY DEFINITION

Studying individuals, groups of individuals, and human activities in relation to the


organizations and establishments that make up society is the focus of this field. It investigates
the beginnings of social organization, and it is a branch of study that is concerned with aspects
of social organization such as the church, the family, the state, the workplace, and the leisure
industry. A better social order that is defined by virtue, happiness, tolerance, and racial equality
can be developed with the help of this field of study, which is a science.

1. Human Personality – a Basic Value


- There is merit in the individual under consideration. This is the most essential
component of the value that life possesses. The goal of physical education should be
to establish a sense of self-worth and significance in its participants, as well as to
enable them to reach their maximum potential and fulfill their potential to the
fullest.

2. Moral Responsibility
- Everyone must come to terms with the fact that they are solely accountable for their
own actions. When it comes to making decisions, human beings have an obligation
to apply their best reasonable judgment to avoid infringing on the rights of other
people. This is to ensure that their decisions do not violate the rights of other
people.

3. Institutions as Servants of Man


- At every level of social institutions, including educational, household, and political
ones, the attention should be on the individuals who make up those organizations.
This should be the case regardless of the level of institution one is examining.

4. Common Consent
- The rule of law, justice, and complete compliance with all previously established
laws and regulations need to act as a compass for this endeavor. This endeavor
needs to be guided by these principles.

5. Devotion to Truth
- The quest for intellectual and moral supremacy, as well as improved creative
capacity, should be an ongoing endeavor. This project needs both support and
promotion on our part.
6. Respect for Excellence
- The pursuit of intellectual and moral superiority, in addition to increased creative
capacity, ought to be unending. This endeavor needs to be supported and
promoted.

7. Moral Equality
- Every single person is judged according to the very same set of moral guidelines.
This encompasses a wide range of behaviors, such as being truthful, tolerant of
others, compassionate, and loving towards one another.

8. Brotherhood
- All citizens have a moral obligation to foster a sense of brotherhood toward one
another, regardless of the level of intelligence, physical prowess, or other
distinguishing characteristics of the people around them.

9. Pursuits of Happiness
- It is of the utmost importance that everyone be given the opportunity to pursue and
accomplish their own personal goals of enjoyment.

10. Spiritual Enrichment


- The spiritual outlook that an individual chooses to uphold is a crucial factor that
plays a role in the development of their point of view.
