Q3) Answer the following –
a. The poet has used to word REST thrice in the poem. Write what the word
implies in each of the three lines it occurs.
Ans) The poet has used the word REST in the second stanza to imply peace
and contentment. In the third stanza, it implies ‘appreciation’, whereas in
the last stanza REST means ‘the remaining qualities’.

b. What does God want in return from man, for the gift he has bestowed
upon him?
Ans) In return for the gifts bestowed upon man, God only wants him to
remember and worship Him and to keep on adoring God who has been so
generous to him.
c. Why did God withhold the gift of ‘Rest’ from man?
Ans) God withheld the gift of ‘Rest’ from man because of the special nature
that gift has. ‘Rest’ makes us feel contented and relaxed, thereby not
desiring for any more. We might even stop wanting to know more about God,
our Creator, as well as seek His blessings.
d. Besides those given in the poem, what other gifts has God blessed
mankind with above his other creations? Enlist them.
Ans) Besides those given in the poem, God has blessed mankind with the
following gifts – the ability to think, speak, dream, introspect, laugh etc.
