A Gem of a Tale.

Sapphira looked around this strange city, her diamond eyes looking around warily as the Darkness
pokemon tried to figure out where she was. She'd moved to this city to get a new job, as the mine she'd
worked at had finally closed, due to it running out of gems and ore. She looked at her tattered t-shirt and
torn skirt and smiled. As a ghost, her clothes were always the same, and she felt at home in them.
Granted, she sometimes wore different things, but these just.... felt right.

As she continued walking, she was preoccupied with worrying that that weird ability she'd gained would
be discovered again. After that chemical explosion in the city she used to live in, she grew whenever she
used an attack or was attacked by someone else. The diminuitive Sableye HATED being big... Not only
were gems large enough to satisfy her much harder to find, but invariably, some idiot would start yelling
"MONSTER!" which would lead to more attacks and, before you knew it, a she ended up outgrowing the
whole place.... The only good thing was that whatever had given her the ability had also made her unable
to seriously hurt someone while gigantic. Even if she stepped on someone, they's only be slightly
stunned.

Malone, a Machoke saw the little girl and smiled to himself. A Sableye was a goldmine to him...He began
following her, making sure to adjust his belt so he wouldn't totally smash the diamonds he intended to
claim shortly... He'd done this before. Sableyes could simply regrow those things, and anyways: Who
LIKED ghost- or dark-types anyway?! They were creepy as heck, and ghosts weren't even really alive, so
they had few legal rights in this city. He noticed that she seemed to be lost and approached her.

"Excuse me, miss. Do you need some help?"

"Yes, please. Do you know how to get to this address? I'm supposed to be at an interview in 20 minutes!"
"Well, you won't be getting there at the rate you're going! Fortunately, IO know a little shortcut! Through
that alley, there!" He pointed towards the dark alley, knowing that to a ghost, it would look almost inviting.

"Thank you, sir! I've got to run, see you!"

Not for much longer! Heh heh! Malone thought as he began to gaze fiercely at the Sableye as she
entered tyhe dead end aley.

Sapphira felt her bod solidifying and turned towards the Machoke who was using Foresight on her.
"Hey! C-cut that out! What are you doing?!"
"What I'm doing is mugging you, ghostie!"
"I-I don't have anything of value..."
"Oh, I can think of TWO or THREE tings! Dn't boter trying to run! You're in a dead end, and I just turned
off your little ghost tricks! Now stand still! This is gonna hurt!"

Sapphira saw the musclebound Superpower charging towards her and sighed. This was hoinh to be
another one of THOSE days... As she felt the punch connect eith her ribs, the familiar feeling of growth
flooded her, as she went from 4 feet in height to almost 6 feet. Still smaller than the fighting type, but
much scarier looking than she'd been before.
She sighed and said "Leave me alone, you idiot! I'm NOT in the mood!"

Malone saw the Sableye getting larger and paused for a moment, before smiling. "I don't know how you
did that, but I'll just knock yopu out and then those lovely gems will be mine! The larger the better!" He
began throwing punch after punch at Sapphira, closing his eyes and waiting for the sound of a Sableye
hitting the grounnd.

Sapphira closed her eyes until the punches started to feel softer, finally opening her eyes to realize that
she was almost 20 feet tall. "All right! Enough of this! Trickery!" Sapphira's hand darted out and grabbed
the Machoke, who kept pounding at her hand until he was in front of her face.
"Get lost, you jerk!" With that, she hurled the fighting type away from her, another 5 feet added from using
the special move to overpower him. She groaned, maybe this time she could explain that she wasn't a
monster...

"MONSTER!!!"
"Well, NUTS!"
The moment she stepped out of the alley, there had been an Exploud walking by and the sight of a 25
foot tall Sableye wasn't known to instill courage in others...
Almost immediately, the police surrounded her, and an Arcanine officer stepped out with a megaphone.
"Attention monster! We have you surrounded! Put your hands up and come in quietly!"

"I don't have time for this! I've got to get to my interview..." Sapphira simply stepped over the cars, only to
feel a Flamethrower hit her in the back, causing her to grow to 45 feet in height.
That sight caused the whole force to freak, and attacks began showering the rapidly growing Sableye,
who tried to run, but it was useless. She was too big to hide, and nobody listened when she tries
explaining herself. Finally, she opened her huge eyes and pressed her palms together, generating a huge
rock that she hurled towards the police force.
"Power gem! Now listen, you're not going to be able to knock me out, and the more you try, the bigger I'm
going to get, so CHILL OUT!!"
As Sapphiora talked, an officer pointed a bazooka towards her and fired a special pellet intended for use
against giants. It contained a substance that would have the the effect of a Toxic attack. The pellet flew
straight down the Darkness Pokemon's throat and she stopped talking.

"Urgh! W-what did you do to me?!"

As the pain from the poison started spreading through her system, Sapphira began growing agian,
reaching 50 feet and still increasing. She found the streets beginning to get too narrow for her feet and
suddenly stumbled, falling forwards onto the ground. Another wave of poison washed over her as she
found herself unable to stand, as the buildings were holding her arms in place. She groaned and
squirmed, finally simply smashing the buildings and standing up to her new height.

"Hey! What did you do?! Fix this! I- OOoooohhh!" Another spurt washed over her as the city became a
model in front of her, then a toy. The poison was causing her to grow and grow, uncontrollably.
Fortunately, her clothes grew with her, since they were almost a part of her. She saw the city shrink away
as another poison pang wracked her body, and even her eyes were having problems picking out things
like trees and buildings. The poison continued intensifying, but her growth kept it from overpowering her
systems. She watched the countryside shrinking around her, going from the size of a city, to a mountain.

She suddenly got an idea. She started ripping up the grren below her, attempting to grab a pecha berry to
cure the poisoning. Okay, maybe more like a few thousand. Unfortunately, she dropped the mess when
she grew again, and found herself unable to pick it up again, due to it being too small. A grumble from her
stomach sent her looking around, finally seeing a large mountain, she scooped it from the ground and bit
into it, unable to control herself due to the poison overriding her commo sense.

As she continued growing, the countryside eventually got so small that she could see the entire country,
and even worse, it was shrinking away as Sapphira's body continued reacting to the bloody poison.
Suddenly, she felt herself begin floating off of the planet, as her body returned to being ghostly at last.
Unfortunately, she still couldn't simply disappear and wait for her body to shrink back, as the poison
wasn't a tangible attack. She was forced to watch as the planet started shrinking again, until instead of
her orbiting it, it was starting to orbit around her. Finally, the titanic pokemon reached forward and
grabbed the earth, marvelling at the beautiful blue gem in her hand, unable to help herself, she crunched
it in her mouth, enjoying the flavor, having given up on shrinking anytime soon, she just looked out at the
stars. Soon, she'd have all of those gems too. She laid back, ignoring the grumbling of her stomach, the
poison having been neutralized by the planet's worth of berries she'd consumed. Tomorrow would be fun!
All alone, with nobody to make her grow...
