Some people say it would be better if there was one language in the world.

Others disagree.
Language is a necessity for communication between people. There are over 1000 languages
across the world. In some people's eyes, it would be better if only one language was spoken.
On the other hand, others disagree with that statement.
Firstly, one language would help with communication between people all around the world.
Therefore, there would be no communication or language barriers as all people would be
able to understand each other. Secondly, many talented individuals are not traveling to
developed countries because of the communication gap. As a result, their talent is being
wasted because of that. For example, many Chinese people have an amazing knowledge of
electronics. But they are not able to present their innovations to developed countries
because most of them are weak in the English language. Thirdly, governments could save a
lot of money on training their citizens in one language instead of many. Furthermore, this
would also save a lot of time and money for individuals.
Taking all this into consideration other people have a different view of having one language
in the world. For starters, having different languages brings many different cultures and
traditions. For example, most communities prefer their own language over any other
language because they feel easier to communicate, and its related to their traditional and
religious beliefs. Moreover, different languages give the opportunity for individuals to learn
about the languages and their traditions. Many people enjoy learning a language and then
traveling to native speaking country so they can further expand their knowledge. Lastly,
different languages keep the economy alive in certain countries. For example, many
countries are dependent on tourism and make a living out of it.
To sum it up, a universal language for all countries has its advantages when it comes to
global communication between countries. Despite these statements, one language would
harm many different cultures and traditions. My modest opinion is that different languages
make us all unique and valuable. Without different languages, the world would be more
monotone and boring.
