1. Rizal Law- The Rizal Law, also known as RA 1425, mandates the study of Rizal’s life and works, as
shown in section 1. This Republic Act calls for an increased sense of nationalism from the Filipinos during a
time of a dwindling Filipino identity. According to the judicial system, are public act is a law that has already

2. Taft Commission- President William McKinley appointed the Taft Commission on 16 March 1900 to
supervise the adjustment of the Philippine Islands' government from military command to civil rule. The five-
member commission assumed legislative authority on 1 September 1900, less than two years after Spain
ceded the Philippines to the United States following the Spanish-American War of 1898. On 4 July 1901,
William Howard Taft, president of the commission, became the Philippines' first civilian governor.

3. Act No. 137-This rule is giving us to take charge to balance a good relation to the US and to take
responsibility to the Philippines.

4. Martyrdom of Gomburza- Gomburza, alternatively stylized as GOMBURZA or Gomburza, refers to three

Filipino Catholic priests, Mariano Gomez, José Burgos, and Jacinto Zamora, who were executed by garrote
on February 17, 1872, in Bagumbayan, Philippines by Spanish colonial authorities on charges of
subversion arising from the 1872 Cavite mutiny. The name is a portmanteau of the priests' surnames.

Gomburza incurred the hatred of Spanish authorities for fighting for equal rights among priests and leading
the campaign against the Spanish friars. They fought on the issues of secularization in the Philippines that
led to the conflict of religious and church seculars.
