ECE 315Relationships With Families

ASSIGNMENT OUTLINE for the first 7 weeks – Spring 2022

MODES OF EVALUATION

Assignment 1: EarlyON Child and Family Centre Analysis Assignment Due Week 7 Worth 30%

Assignment 2: The Asynchronous component will consist of Quizzes or Discussion Boards or Reflections weekly
- worth 3% - 5% each for a total of 20%

EVALUATION CRITERIA

ECE 315 is a process subject. This means it requires near to full attendance for the learning/teaching process
to successfully work.

There is a requirement to attend 75% of the classes in order to pass process subjects.

In some cases, at the discretion of the professor, students who miss classes in excess of 25% may, in order to
pass the process subject, be given the opportunity to negotiate suitable redress with the professor.

Students must obtain a passing grade in each evaluation area in order to pass the course.

One rewrite is permitted in this subject. No higher than a D will be given for a rewrite. Two failed assignments will
result in a failure in the course.

Absence during scheduled in-class group work sessions or presentations requires a medical note. Failure to
meet this requirement will result in a “0” grade. The student is required to notify the professor in case of
sickness before the scheduled date for presentation if s/he is unable to attend.

Assignments are expected to be handed in at the beginning of class on the due date. Assignments that are late
will follow the process outlined in the student handbook. A student may negotiate an extension up to one week in
advance of an assignment’s due date given unusual circumstances. This extension contract must be negotiated
in the professor’s office and not in class.

When students are absent it is their responsibility to “catch-up” on missed material, announcements, schedule
changes, discussions, etc.

Students are responsible for keeping a personal copy of all assignments they submit. All assignments are to be
submitted through SafeAssign, and must be submitted on or before the due date. Students need to also submit
a hard copy in class to the professor.

All assignments will be graded according to Language Across the Curriculum principles.
