Mittal Iron & Steel Co. sources raw iron ore from five different mines located in five
different areas – Durg, Mayurbhanj, Jaintia Hills, Kudremukh and Singhbhum. The
mines are ranked from 1 to 5 based on the cost of iron ore (1 for the cheapest to 5for
the costliest), distance from the factory (1 for the nearest to 5 for the farthest) and
the speed of carriage (1 for the fastest to5 for the slowest). Assume that all the carriage
vehicles from a location travel at the same speed. No two mines got the same rank in
any of the three parameters and no mine got the same rank in any two parameters.
Further, it is known that
(i) Jaintia Hills mine is the farthest, whereas Durg mine is not the nearest.
(ii) iron ore sourced from Durg mine is the second costliest, whereas iron ore sourced
from Singhbhum mine is the cheapest.
(iii) Mayurbhanj mine is the third farthest mine and the carriage vehicles from it travel
the slowest.
(iv) the carriage vehicles from Durg mine do not travel the fastest.

Q-Which mine is the nearest to the factory?

a) Mayurbhanj mine
b) Jaintia Hills mine
c) Kudremukh mine
d) Cannot be determined
A, B, C, D & E are five boys that live in G+10 storeyed building. Each
boy lives on a different floor and none of them lives on the ground floor.
All of them enter the lift on the ground floor and each one presses the
buttons for exactly 2 floors such that all 10 buttons(floors 1- 10) are
pressed. None of them presses the button for his own floor. The following
information is also know:
1. C lives above A but below D, and E lives below D but above B.
2. There are exactly 2 floors between the floors of B and A and exactly one
floor between the floors of C and E, where none of the five stay.
3. The floor numbers pressed by B are perfect square numbers.
4. A pressed the button for C's floor, B pressed the button for D's floor, C
pressed the button for E's floor, D pressed the button for A's floor and E
pressed the button for B's floor.
5. The difference between the floor numbers pressed by E is the floor
number of C.
6. The difference between the floor numbers pressed by D is a perfect
square number.
7. A pressed consecutive floor numbers.
8. B pressed the buttons for floors that are above the floor where he lives.

Q1. Who lives on a floor which is in between the floors whose buttons he
pressed?

Q2. Who lives on the 6th floor?

Q3. Who pressed the button for the first floor?

Q4. Who lives on the 4th floor?

Paresh, Qasim, Ranjana and Sameer are four individuals (with
different weights) out of which two are from Mumbai (M)
and the remaining two are from Delhi (D). It is known that
Qasim is lighter than Paresh, Sameer is lighter than Ranjana
and Sameer is not from Mumbai.

Q1. If the heaviest as well as the lightest persons arefrom

Delhi, then which of the following must be true?
a. Paresh is the heaviest and only one person is lighter
than Qasim.

b. Sameer is the lightest and he is the only person lighter

than Ranjana.

c. Ranjana is the heaviest and Sameer is the lightest.

d. Sameer is the lightest and Qasim is from Mumbai.

It is known that Qasim is the lightest and Ranjana isfrom

Mumbai. Consider the following statements:
Statement I : Only Qasim is lighter than Ranjana.
Statement II: Paresh is the heaviest of all.

Q2. Which of these statements can be true?

a. Only I
b. Only II
c. Both I and II
d. Neither Inor II
In the 2015 cricket world cup, five cricketers – A, B, C, D and E
participated. Each of them was an all rounder, that is, could both bat
and bowl. The runs scored and the runs conceded by each of these
five cricketers were among 65, 70, 75, 85 and 90 runs. The runs
conceded by each cricketer is different and also the runs scored by each
of these five cricketers is different. For any cricketer, the runs scored is
not equal to the runs conceded. The difference between the runs scored
and runs conceded for any cricketer is denoted by the parameter X (Runs
Scored – Runs Conceded). Further it is known that:

I. The runs conceded by C is equal to the runs scored by E. Alsothe

value of parameter X for both C and E is negative.

II. The runs conceded by B is more than that by D. The value of X is

positive for B and less than the value of X for D.

III. If the value of X is positive for any cricketer, then it is always

more than 5. Also, the value of X is not the same for any two
cricketers.

IV. The value of X is positive for only two cricketers. Absolute value
of X for any cricketer is not 15.

Q. How many runs were scored by A?
