Discussion 2.1 Advantages of Different Power Plants

Advantages of non-renewable energy

• Nonrenewable materials have a high energy content. In comparison to renewable energy sources such as
solar or wind, fossil fuels such as coal and oil tend to give us with more energy.
• Coal extraction, oil sales, and natural gas pipeline development can all create substantial profits.
• These resources are simple to utilize in the home or elsewhere.
• Nonrenewable resources are available at a low cost to consumers.
• New technologies and other energy sources are unable to replace traditional minerals such as coal and oil for
some people. As a result, it's also known as conventional energy.
• Nonrenewable energy can be found just about anywhere. This means they can be easily transported around
the world. Non-renewable energy can be used by those who live in difficult-to-reach locations.
• Non-renewable resources, above all, are employment creators. The parts of non-renewable sources that
create employment are extraction, transportation, and refining.
• Most nonrenewable resources are also fairly simple to store.
Advantages of renewable energy

• A never-ending supply of fuel Renewable energy, as the name implies, is generated from naturally
replenishing sources such as sunshine, wind, water, biomass, and even geothermal (underground) heat.\
• Emissions of zero carbon. The fact that no greenhouse gases or other pollutants are produced throughout the
process is perhaps the most significant advantage of renewable energy. Solar panels and wind turbines
produce no CO2, but coal power plants produce roughly 2.2 pounds of CO2 every kilowatt-hour of electricity.
• Air and water that are cleaner Burning fossil fuels to create power pollutes the air we breathe and the water
we drink, in addition to warming the climate.
• A Less Expensive Electricity Source. Solar and wind power are currently the cheapest sources of electricity
in many regions of the world, because to the fast rise of renewable energy over the previous ten years.
• New Jobs are Created by Renewable Energy. With a growing focus on global warming and many countries
setting aggressive carbon-reduction objectives, one of the unexpected benefits of renewable energy is that it
has swiftly become a major source of new job development.
