Daily Activities disebut juga kegiatan sehari-hari yang biasanya dilakukan setiap
hari oleh kita. Teks daily activities menggunakan Simple Present Tense dan memiliki
susunan yang runtut dari aktivitas ke aktivitas yang lainnya.

Vocabulary Daily Activities

● Wake up = Bangun
● Brush my teeth = Menggosok gigiku
● Comb my hair = Menyisir rambutku
● Clean the house = Membersihkan rumah
● Play with my friends = Bermain bersama teman-temanku
● Water the flowers = Menyiram bunga
● Take a bath = Mandi
● Wash my face = Mencuci muka
● Eat breakfast = Sarapan
● Study at school = Belajar di sekolah
● Watch TV = Nonton TV
● Read a book = Membaca buku
● Wash my hair = Keramas

● My father take me to the school with his car (Ayahku membawa aku ke
sekolah dengan mobilnya)
● In the school, I study from 6.30 a.m until 11.00 a.m (Di sekolah aku belajar
dari jam 6.30 - jam 11.00)
● After school, I play video games with my friends (Sepulang sekolah aku
bermain video games dengan teman-temanku)
● I'm doing my homework in the night than I go to sleep (Aku mengerjakan
PR-ku di malam hari kemudian aku pergi tidur)

Contoh Teks Daily Activity

Every morning, I always wake up at 05.30 and immediately stretch, so that my body
doesn't feel sore after sleeping all night. Then I tidy up the bedroom, then go to the
bathroom to wash my face and pee.

Then I go to the kitchen to drink a glass of water and help Mom prepare breakfast
for the whole family. Some of the menus that Mother often cooks for breakfast are
fried rice, sandwiches, or toast.

At 06:30, my father took me and my sister to school by motorbike. At the same time
as we go, Mother also goes to her office using another motorbike.

I study at school from 07:15 to 12:30 every Monday - Saturday. My mom pick me
and my sister up from school. When we arrive at home, we would have lunch
together, then do our schoolwork, then take a nap.

Text About Friend’s Family

Sesuai dengan definisinya bahwa Descriptive text adalah teks yang

menggambarkan sesuatu. Dalam menulis descriptive text, tenses yang digunakan
adalah simple present tense. Struktur pembuatan descriptive text ada dua yaitu
identification (pengenalan tokoh, tempat, benda) dan description (deskripsi atau
ciri-ciri khusus yang dimiliki benda, tempat, atau orang yang dideskripsikan.
Misalnya sifat-sifat, tampilan fisik, dan hal lain yang dituliskan dengan spesifik).

Example descriptive text.

My Best Friend – Tresno

I have a best friend, his name is Tresno. He is my classmate. He lives in

Banjarnegara. He has a happy family, his parents. He is the only child in his family.
Tresno is seventeen years old. He is handsome. He has white skin. He has short
black hair. His hair is straight. He has brown eyes. His height is 161 cm, he is taller
than me. He is slim because his weight is only 55 kg.
Moreover, Tresno is a kind person, because he always helps me and all his friends
to do homework. He is a very smart, kind and sociable person. In addition, he has
some hobbies. They are writing and singing. He likes to write short stories. His
short story is very interesting. He always practices writing everyday. He has many
diaries. He writes a diary every day and almost every time. His diary now runs four
hundred pages. So, he is good at writing. Furthermore, he also likes singing. His
favorite song is Jeena Sirf Mere Liye and his favorite singer is Sonu Nigam. His voice
is very melodious, I like his voice a lot. I am happy to be friends with him. And so do
all of my friends.

Ciri-ciri Descriptive Text:

1. Specific participant : has a certain object, is not common and unique (only one).
for example: Bandengan beach, my house, Borobudur temple, uncle Jim
2. The use of the adjective (an adjective) to clarify the noun, for example: a
beautiful beach, a handsome man, the famous place in jepara, etc.
3. The use of simple present tense: The sentence pattern used is simple present
because it tells the fact of the object described.
4. Action verb: verbs that show an activity (for example, run, sleep, walk, cut, etc)

Example:
My Small House
I live in a small house. It has five rooms: there are two bedrooms, a living room, a
bathroom, and a kitchen. Indeed it is a small house; but I like living here because I
am wasting my spare time.

When the door is open, I can see the living room. It is so small with only three
chairs and a table, nothing else. I prefer reading a novel in this room.

My bedroom is on the left side of the living room. In this room there is a night table
next to the bed, a TV, a radio, and a computer. When I'm bored of reading, I usually
play online games, chat with my friends via Facebook and so on.

Next to my bedroom is my mother’s. I do not know what is inside because I never

come in to see it. In the right side of the living room there is the kitchen. In the
kitchen I have everything I need when I get hungry. It is very pleasant when my
mother cooks, the smell fills my whole house.

I know it is a very small house, but it is the best place I have ever seen.
