P Activity ● The lesson will begin when the students come into the
e classroom. I will have our new interactive whiteboard
d pulled up with the student’s names separated into
a groups of three. Once I explain to the students who are
g in what groups I will tell them to sit quietly on our
o learning rug which is placed in front of our new board.
g Once they have got seated, I will allow them one dry
y erase board and marker per group for all to share. The
students will then take ten-fifteen minutes working with
their partners writing words that rhyme on their dry
erase boards. I will then begin a small ten minute
discussion on words that rhyme and how to make sure
they rhyme. We will then switch our interactive
whiteboard off of their names, and turn on our first
lesson on rhyming. We will use a premade ClassFlow
chart, made by ClassFlow called “recognise rhyming
words in a poem”.
● The first activity we will be doing using our whiteboard,
will be listening to a song called “five little ducks” on
slide 4. On the following slides that we will view, I will
help demonstrate to the students what they are doing
so they fully understand. For slides, 5-8 we will read the
sentence together and look at the underlined word, and
I (the teacher) will choose one group at a time to come
to the board and drag the word that rhymes with the
underlined word into the blank space. For slides 9-11 we
will read the sentences and look at the underlined word
then I (the teacher) will pick a different group to come to
the board and write the word into the blank space. On
our final slide which is slide 12 we will read the sentence
and check our understanding, I (the teacher) will pick
another group to come to the board and they will drag
the answer to the underlined space. After completing
our first IWB activity as a class, we as a whole group, will
discuss what our thoughts on it are. Then we will begin
our second IWB activity, that also comes from ClassFlow
made by ClassFlow, named “Recognize Rhyming Words
with Tog the Frog”
● To begin our second activity the students will still be
sitting on the learning rug in their groups, and I (the
teacher) will still be allowing them to come to the board
one group at a time. Starting on slide 3, I (the teacher)
will start by reading them the saying about tog the frog,
continuing to slide 4, we will discuss as a class that
words that rhyme with cat, is what Tog wants to eat.
Starting on slide 5 and going to slide 9 I (the teacher)will
continue to pick one group at a time to come to the
board. They will be coming to the board and sliding Tog’s
red tongue to the picture that rhymes with cat, and then
slide his tongue to the plate located below Tog. On slide
10, as a class we will get to see all the pictures we have
slid to Tog’s plate. Slide 11, we will check our
understanding just like on our other activity. and I (the
teacher) will pick one final group to come to the board
and click the answer.
● After completing both of the assignments that I have
selected we will discuss how the students enjoyed using
our new board for activities. We will discuss how the
activities helped them in learning more about rhyming
words.
