EXPERIMENT PROCEDURE
I. To simulate an inverting op-amp amplifier
In Multisim, simulate an inverting amplifier circuit as shown below. If your component
values differ slightly, report the exact value used in your report.

Figure 1. Inverting amplifier using op-amp.

Calculate the gain of your amplifier. What does the negative sign in the
gain mean?
Show the input and output signals in your report.
Measure and report the actual gain of the amplifier.

Increase the input signal frequency from 1KHz to 100KHz and note down the measured
gain of the amplifier. Plot a graph of gain vs input signal frequency. Explain this graph in
your report.

Set the input signal frequency back to 1KHz. Now increase the peak amplitude from 0.5V
to 1V. Show and explain the resultant graph in your report. What can you do to make the
amplified signal look better?

II. To simulate a non-inverting op-amp amplifier

In Multisim, simulate a non-inverting amplifier circuit as shown below. If your
component values differ slightly, report the exact value used in your report.

Figure 2. Non-inverting amplifier using op-amp.

Calculate the gain of your amplifier.

Show the input and output signals in your report.
Measure and report the actual gain of the amplifier.

Increase the input signal frequency from 1KHz to 100KHz and note down the measured
gain of the amplifier. Plot a graph of gain vs input signal frequency. Explain this graph in
your report and compare it with the graph obtained in previous task

III. To build and test an inverting op-amp amplifier

Build the inverting op-amp amplifier in experiment I and perform and report all the
tasks in it.
IV. To build and test a non-inverting op-amp amplifier
Build the non-inverting op-amp amplifier in experiment II and perform and report all
the tasks in it.
V. To build and test a unity buffer
Build a unity buffer as shown in the figure below:
