The Set Up
Who is on the field?

● Goalkeeper
○ Attempts to save and protect the goal from the other team
● 4 Defenders
○ An attempt to stop the offense from scoring by deflecting or
intercepting passes, taking the ball from an opponent, or
forcing bad shots.
● 4 Attackers
○ Players with the intent of of scouring goals
● 3 Midfielders
○ Traditionally plays both offense and defense

7 players (plus the goalie) allowed on behind the restraining line


The Draw

● Each quarter begins with the draw, or after a goal


● Once whistle blows, ball is flung up by sticks
● 3 people from each team can contest for the ball

After a foul takes place in the 8 meter arc


the attacker stands on the closest hash, the
player who caused the foul goes behind.

Common Fouls

● Covering the ball


○ Scoop the ball up, can not use back of stick
● Empty stick check
○ You can only check a stick that contains the ball
● Cross check
○ Having your stick horizontal while playing defense
● Pushing
○ Extending arms while playing defense
● Touching the ball with your hand

Player who fouls must move 4 meters away
