EDUCATION
80% girls of the Kishori Vikas program goes to

Government schools, and they need a helping hand

in making them understand subjects and drill down

to the topics taught in their school.

The volunteers continuously support them by

clarifying doubts on a daily basis and also assess

them by conducting tests and ensuring their

learning curve is steadily growing. Special sessions

are organised for 10th Class students to make sure

they successfully get through the board exam.

Nurturing Skills

Along with education, we are focused on nurturing students skills such as

Drawing, Painting, Singing, Meditation, Yoga, Dancing, behavioral skills,
personality development skills.

The volunteer guides girls by providing tips on performing better and

providing required resources (stationery, special training, and other
avenues) to achieve and become mastery of that skill.

Today, several girls performed at the state-level competitions under

Painting, Drawing, Dancing and won several accolades which gives
satisfaction to the volunteer and the overall program.

Harini, a bright 8-year-old girl, says, “I
have recently participated in LV

program telecasted in Bhakti TV, where
have recited the Bhagvathgita slokas
that learned from my tutor in Bala
Smaskar kendram. I got first prize in the
competition.”
Tejitha is a Kishori (beneficiary) from the Laxmiguda KVK centre.

GIVING LIFE TO THE VISION

She had a natural affinity towards drawing since the age of 10. As
she joined the Kishori Vikas program, where the volunteers observed
her interest in drawing nurtured further and everyone was happy for
the progress she made in drawing and academics. Unfortunately, at
the age of 10, Tejitha began to have problems with her eyesight and
completely lost her eyesight when she attained 15 status years.
She was one of the best students and attended every class however
she stopped attending classes. Knowing this, the volunteers
approached family and the family replied that they can't afford the
treatment due to their financial condition. To add the challenges, she
lost her mother in a gas accident and 5 kids along with father were
depressed.
Understanding the plight of Tejitha, the local Kishori Vikas team
raised funds for her eye surgery. The surgery was successful and
Tejitha is back to normal.
CONNECTING THE RIGHT DOTS
Shireesha got affected by some problem in the childhood which affected her
legs. She could walk barely and she always had to depend on someone to
reach school or to the center. When the volunteers approached Shireesha's
mother she narrated their experience of attempt in Tirupati which was a
failure. Shireesha parents rely on selling fruits and didn't had neither financial
independence to make her walk independently or the knowledge to get it
fixed.
When the Kishori Vikas volunteers got to know the issue and helplessness of
the parents, our team approached an NGO that is fixing Jaipur legs for these
kind of problems. Parents having the confidence in the volunteers agreed to
explore this opportunity where the volunteers confidently tackled this
challenge and arranged for a Jaipur leg. Shireesha is now able to walk slowly
and she will be better in few months.
