Career Support*
Dr. Parameswar Krishnan Iyer received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the
CSIR-CSMCRI (Central Salt and Marine Chemicals Research Institute), Bhavnagar,
India, in 1999. He did his Post-Doctoral Research at Technion, Israel, (1999-2001),
University of California at Santa Barbara, USA, (2001-2003), and Case Western
Reserve University, Cleveland, USA, (2003-2004). In 2004, he joined as a faculty at
IIT Guwahati, where he is currently a Professor in Chemistry since 2013. He is also
the Dean, Public Relations, Branding and Ranking at IIT Guwahati since July 2019.
His research interests include the design and development of functional materials
and their applications in photovoltaics, LEDs, transistors, memory, sensors-based
device fabrication, and in therapeutics areas. He has more than 200 International
Journal Publications, 11 books/book chapters, 26 patents, and is involved with a
multinational start-up company, two national start-up companies, and has
transferred several technologies to various industries. He is an Associate Editor of
Nature Scientific Reports and Frontiers in Medical Technology and an Editorial
Board member of ACS Sensors, ACS Applied Nano Materials, ACS Applied
Biomaterials, and RSC Material Chemistry Frontiers. He has received several
National and International Awards and serves as an expert member in various
national and international scientific bodies.
Faculty Profiles
Dr. Suresh Sundaram received his Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Science,
Bengaluru, in 2012, after which he did a one-year stint as a Research Consultant
with Hewlett Packard Research Labs, Bengaluru. Since 2013, he is with the
Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering and Mehta Family School of
Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, at IIT Guwahati. His current research
interests include Handwriting Recognition, Biometrics, and Document Analysis.
Dr. Debanga Raj Neog received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University
of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver, Canada, in 2018, co-advised by Prof. Dinesh
K. Pai and Prof. Robert J. Woodham. This was subsequent to his B.Tech in
Electronics and Communication Engineering from the IIT Guwahati. His
interdisciplinary research work has covered Computer Vision, Computer Graphics,
Neuroscience, Machine Learning, and Augmented Reality. He is a recipient of the
Mitacs Globalink Research Award, under which he worked with researchers in
INRIA Grenoble Rhone-Alpes, France. He also collaborated with Iwahori Lab in
Japan. Dr. Neog co-founded Nytilus Inc., a Toronto-based start-up focusing on
computational imaging solutions to solve problems in industrial inspections,
supported by global accelerators, such as Techstars. Dr. Neog joined IIT Guwahati
in September 2021.
Dr. Konda Reddy Mopuri

Dr. Konda Reddy Mopuri, before joining IIT Guwahati, held a post-doctoral
position at the School of Informatics, University of Edinburgh, UK. He received his
Ph.D. in Deep Learning and Computer Vision from the Department of
Computational and Data Sciences, IISc Bengaluru. His thesis won the IUPRAI and
SPCOM ‘Best Doctoral Dissertation’ Awards in 2018. His research lies broadly in
Deep learning, AI, Computer Vision, Image/Signal Processing, and Data Science.
His research has been published in top-tier venues such as ICLR, ICML, CVPR,
ECCV, WACV, BMVC, Trans. on PAMI, Tran. on Image processing, and Frontiers in
Robotics and AI.
Dr. Arghyadip Roy, prior to joining IIT Guwahati, was a postdoctoral researcher at
the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA, for two years. He did his Ph.D.
from IIT Bombay in 2019, M.Tech. from IIT Kharagpur in 2012, and B.E. from
Jadavpur University in 2010. He previously worked at Samsung R&D
Institute-Bangalore, India. His research interests include Optimisation and Control
of Stochastic Systems, Resource Allocation in Wireless Networks, Reinforcement
Learning, and Application of Machine Learning in Wireless Communication.

Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG) established in 1994 has completed
25 years of glorious existence in 2019. At present, the Institute has eleven
departments, five inter-disciplinary academic centres and four schools covering all
the major engineering, science and humanities disciplines, offering BTech, BDes,
MA, MDes, MTech, MSc and Ph.D. Programs. The institute offers a residential
campus to 425 faculty members and more than 7,000 students at present. Besides
its laurels in teaching and research, IIT Guwahati has been able to fulfil the
aspirations of the people of the North East region to a great extent since its
inception in 1994. The picturesque campus is on a sprawling 285 hectares plot on
the north bank of the Brahmaputra, around 20 km from the heart of the

maintain its superior position even today in various International Rankings. IIT
Guwahati gained rank 41 globally in the ‘Research Citations per Faculty’ category
and overall 395 rank in the QS World University Rankings 2022 released recently.
IIT Guwahati has retained the 7th position among the best engineering institutions
of the country in the ‘India Rankings 2022’ declared by the National Institutional
Ranking Framework (NIRF) of the Union ministry of Human Resource
Development (HRD). IIT Guwahati has been also ranked 2nd in the ‘Swachhata
Ranking’ conducted by the Govt. of India. Recently, IIT Guwahati has been ranked
as the top-ranked University in 2019 for IT developers by HackerRank in the
Asia-Pacific region.
Among other frontier areas of research and innovation, IIT Guwahati is working

Developmental Biology, Health Care and Bioinformatics, Flexible Electronics,
