What is upcycling?
Upcycling is the action of taking an
object of no use and turning it into
something new. The resulting object
must be of higher value than it
originally had. This differs from
recycling because in recycling you
break down materials (plastics,
metals, glass and paper) to make a
new product of lesser quality. In
upcycling you are not breaking down
materials, you may alter the way this
material looks like but, in the end, the
final product contains the same
exact materials that it originally had.
