a). Present Perfect

Present Perfect is an activity that happened in the past but still has something to do

with the present time. In short, the present perfect is a way to express everything that "had"

and was done before now. Present perfect is used to express connection between past and

present. (Have: Already, Haven't: Not yet).

Formula : Subject + Have/Haven't + Verb 3 +Object

Example : I have taken a shower

I have played games

Notes: Because the present perfect focuses on what causes the present condition or event

The Formulas of Present Perfect

I have eaten
Negative : Subject + (have/has+not) + Verb 3

I haven’t eaten

Intrrogative : have/has + subject + verb 3 + ?

Present Perfect doesn’t need a general/specific time complement because it focuses

on the consequences at the present moment where the activity was in the past

b). Past Perfect

Past Perfect is an activity that happened in the past before another time in the past.

In short, the past perfect is a way of expressing everything that you "had" done before a time

in the past. Past Perfect is used to express connection between past and past ( Had : already,

Hadn't : not).

Rumus : Subject + Had/Hadn’t +Verb 3 +Object

Example : I had taken a shower

I had played games

Notes: Because the perfect tense cannot use general or specific time, the past perfect

sometimes uses "before" + other activities in the past

I had Played

I hadn’t played
