The Questions:

1. Do you think it is important to group young learners?

2. Why is writing skill a difficult activity for children? explain

The Answers:

1. Yes, I think it is important to group young learners because the grouping of young
learners is based on the view that besides young learners having similarities, young
learners also have differences. The similarities that exist in young learners give birth to
the idea of placing them in the same group, while the differences that exist in young
learners give birth to the idea of grouping them in different groups. In addition, there is
a reason the grouping of young learners is based on the reality that young learners are
constantly growing and developing. The growth and development of young learners
differ from one another. So that the rapid development of young learners does not
interfere with slow young learners and vice versa. Therefore, the grouping of young
learners was carried out.
2. Writing skill is a difficult activity for children: Writing skill is something that seems easy,
but it is not so for children. During the process of learning to write, it is not uncommon
for children to experience difficulties that make them despair, even to the point of
hating writing lessons. Therefore, there are several factors that cause the difficulty of
writing skill activities for children, including:
 Difficulty following the learning method
It is undeniable that learning to write is indeed difficult, especially for children.
Therefore, the need for a method of learning to write that is suitable for each child.
Of course, children will find it difficult if they are immediately told to write on a
piece of paper just by looking at examples in front of their eyes. He will do this more
by tracing patterns, bolding letters, dots, or associating the shapes of letters and
numbers with the objects around them.
 Words are not meaningful for children
Words in writing are often considered not significant for children. Especially when
the work paper used does not attract children. That's what makes the child lazy
writing.
 Children are not ready to write
Children's writing interest is closely related to writing readiness which is related to
motor skills. Children have not been able to control their motor skills with writing
tools so they are not interested in writing. He will then avoid it to minimize
frustration due to his incompetence.
 Fear of failure makes children lazy to write
Learning to write can be scary for children. Fear of failure and not meeting
expectations is something that children often feel when learning to write. Therefore,
teachers and parents are able to manage expectations when teaching children to
write. Avoid sentences that seem demanding and convey that the child can learn it
slowly. In addition, accept the fear that the child feels and embrace the child to face
it.
 Writing equipment is less attractive
For children, they put a lot of emphasis on visuals. The type of stationery used can
greatly affect their interest in learning. Try to provide interesting stationery. For
example with their favorite color or image.
