interview just to know a couple of days later that you
were not taken? I've had this same feeling on repeat
over my university years. After failing so many times,
I know what works, and most importantly what
doesn't.
This checklist will help you ensure you have all the

Write down relevant keywords you see often in the job posting, to mention them during the

interview

Look for job success predictors for the role you're applying to by using google and by asking

current employees

Research the company and popular questions they ask using glassdoor.com

Record yourself on your phone to practice answering questions on video, and ask for

feedback

Have a good light source that will enhance your video quality (One in each side of your face

preferably)

Test your microphone to see if it works well

Make sure your background is clean and professional

Make sure you record yourself in a quiet, distraction-free room

Check your internet connection using speedtest.net (You need at least 2mbs  in upload and

Test your image quality and audio inside the platform

Do the Practice Question, and check if you can enhance the video quality or the behavior you

have while answering the question

Have a notebook ready nearby to write down your ideas while they ask for a question, you'll

have around 30 sec to prepare your answer

Don't check the time too often while you answer your question, be methodical, and answer

the question thoroughly

Optional: you can hide your video if it distracts you while you answer the question

Finish answering concisely by referring back to the question and relating your answer to the

role

Stop the recording button professionally, even if you didn't use all the allocated time

Followup with the Hiring Manager the day after to thank them for the opportunity to be

interviewed
