RATIONALE:

In line with the DepEd Memo No. 70 s. 2019, DepEd shall observe the 2019
National No Smoking Month Celebration. This shall focus with DepEd Order No. 48
s. 2016 entitled Policy and Guidelines on Comprehensive Tobacco Control in all
schools and DepEd offices.
In this connection, DepEd shall undertake the following activities:
a. conduct educational and information drive to raise awareness on the harm
of tobacco use and exposure to second hand smoke, tobacco control
polices, and tactics of the tobacco industry , through creative endeavour,
lectures, seminars, and projects involving the participation of students;
b. conduct advocacy campaign activities such as;
 a. promoting the implementation of comprehensive tobacco control
policies and promoting awareness among stakeholders including
parents, visitors in school grounds and the retailers in the 100 meter
perimeter of the school;
b. conducting awareness-raising activities to warn against smoking , to
promote healthy lifestyles and to counter the efforts of tobacco
industry’s tactics to circumvent tobacco control measures, to glamorize
smoking, and to downplay or deny the addictive , harmful nature of
tobacco products and;
c. putting up signage indicating that the school or office is a smoke free
zone in prominent and strategic locations within the school and DepEd
premises.
With this, Ambulong Elementary School’s Supreme Pupil Government (SPG)
will conduct SAY NO TO CIGARETTE (Anti-Smoking Campaign). An Anti-Smoking
campaign that will educate pupils the effects of smoking in our health. It is a
campaign wherein the SPG officers will discuss different diseases that a person may
get through smoking. Signage around the school premises will also be posted for the
information of everybody.

OBJECTIVES:

Based from DepEd Order No. 48 s. 2018 and consultation with the principal and
teachers the objectives of the projects are:

1. raise awareness on the harms of tobacco use and exposure to second

hand smoke and;

2. disseminate information about the bad effects of smoking in our health;

3. discuss different diseases may acquire from smoking.

VIII. EXPECTED OUTPUTS:
