1. “After the enactment of Information Technology Act, 2000 The
Indian Evidence Act, 1872 witnessed many amendments”.
Elucidate.
2. Discuss the powers and functions of the Controller.
3. What is E-Governance? Explain the provisions of I.T. Act
pertaining to E-Governance.

Answer any TWO Questions: - (2 x 10 = 20)
14. Ram was employed in ZERA Banks Ltd. He owed much to his
friend Gopal who financed him for his higher studies.
Showing gratitude and to repay, Ram enabled Gopal to get
access into the Bank Computer and obtain details and
information about the accounts of certain persons. Gopal then
passed on the details to two other persons who used them for
fraudulent purpose. Make out the offences committed by Ram
and Gopal and their liability.
15. A young college boy called “Charles Darwin” was having a
vivid social network presence, where as parallelly Darwin in
real life was a self contained loner who would withdraw to his
own cocoon of comfort and not mingle with many. Darwin had
many online friends and would regularly share his thoughts
with few of them. In this online socializing process, Darwin
meets a girl called ‘Evolution’ and over a period of time
Darwin & Evolution become very intimate. Darwin starts to
share lot of his personal information with Evolution and
correspondingly Evolution does the same. On a particular day
Evolution starts to Reduce the online contact with Darwin and
gradually goes on refusing over a period of time to a point
where Evolution & Darwin interact with each other only once a
fortnight. Darwin becomes very disturbed and when he tries to
contact Evolution, She immediately starts to react very harshly
and state that he is a looser, a loner, and not fit for survival, she
also states that in a competing world only the “Fit survive” and

you are unfit to live”. After receiving such comment Darwin

decides that his time is over and its not worth leaving and
commits suicide by hanging.
Now, analyse the situation and give a legal interpretation from
the point of Cyber crime.
What should the investigators look for in terms of evidences
and how should it be secured.

16. A company called METRION is in the business of

manufacturing automotive break liners, METRION holds a
market share of 80% in the industry, Their uniqueness in the
product is alloy which can bare high temperature with very
little metal ware due to use, as a result METRION Products are
highly reliable and long lasting. An employee called
“Siddlingu” was working in METRION as a shop floor
assistant; he was offered a sum of Rs 20 lakh by one of the
industry competitor company BREAK-IT if he could get the
alloy processing data and the CNC machine settings to design
few particular components. “Siddlingu” Promptly downloaded
all the necessary data to a pen drive and sold the information to
BREAK-IT. Over a period of time this incident came to the
notice of management of METRION and in this context
(i)What are the provisions of Information Technology Act in this
context?
(ii)Can BREAK-IT be implicated in the case, If yes how and
What are the provisions?
