Rationale: This task aims to test your skill in drafting your own speech of a given theme in preparation
for a speech delivery. The speech will be evaluated according to the concepts discussed in the principles of
speech writing which should be reflected in the speech you will produce.

Objective: At the end of the task, you shall have:


A. Used principles of effective speech writing focusing on (EN11/12OC-IIcj-25):
 audience profile/content (EN11/12OC-IIcj-25.1)
 logical organization (EN11/12OC-IIcj-25.2)
 duration/format (EN11/12OC-IIcj-25.3)
 word choice (EN11/12OC-IIcj-25.4)
 grammatical correctness/mechanics (EN11/12OC-IIcj-25.5)
Mechanics:
1. This is an individual work.
2. You are to write a speech aligned with the theme My Fortitude, Excellence, and/or Uprightness
(FEU) Story. You may exhibit any of your present or past experiences in your writing. To not limit
your experiences, you may also write about your encounter with a person or people with an FEU
story.
3. You will be given the liberty to title your own speech.
4. You are to write a 1-page speech with an introduction, body, and conclusion.
5. Your written speech must abide by the following prescribed format:
 Font Style: Verdana
 Font Size: 11 pt.
 Spacing: 1.15
 Margin: 1 inch margin on all sides
 Paper size: A4
 Name and section: should appear as a byline below the speech title

(4) mechanics/conventions, and (5) format.
