History of the Chapel of Saint Michael Archangel


The Chapel of St. Michael the Archangel popularly known as the Chapel of The
Indians is the oldest Religious Temple in the State of São Paulo located in Padre
Aleixo Monteiro Mafra square in district of Sao Miguel Paulista in the city of Sao
Paulo.
The Chapel, Which was built by The Guayana Indians Catechized by The Jesuits, in
1622, was named after the National Historical and Artistic Heritage.

How to Get?
Go Ahead on Coronel Antonio Dias Street Turn Left on Platina Street Turn Right on
Tuiuti Street. Go ahead on Tuiuti Street go up the stairs turn right, go straight on the

direction of Tatuape Mall. Take the train to Calmon Viana. Get off at the Sao
Miguel Paulista train Station. Cross the São Miguel Avenue Soon You Will See the
Chapel of Saint Michael the Archangel March Historic District of Saint Michael
Chapel of St. Michael the Archangel
Paulista.
