A method is a system of instruction that addresses a pedagogical approach to learning, emphasizesan

emphasis on certain teaching techniques, and offers a strategy for organizational management to put
that approach into practice.

The approach refers to how the educational material is delivered, how the students engage with it, and
how learning is evaluated. The strategy frequently draws on pedagogical philosophy (how students
learn).

The actions the instructor employs to carry out the lesson, frequently in order. In a program, tactics are
frequently outlined in a predetermined order. However, as the session goes, teachers frequently alter
the activity or order based on how students demonstrate their mastery of the subject matter.

Technique: A teacher would often utilize a sequence of stages or processes to carry out a strategy,
approach, or technique. Techniques are typically taught via professional development or coaching and
are not necessarily specific.

In what has been called an "eclectic approach," students in modern language classrooms frequently
learn through techniques culled from a variety of methods/approaches. In accordance with the various
needs of their students, teachers choose techniques from a variety of approaches. This is how most
textbooks combine methods and techniques.
