Results

According to the findings of the analysis, healing was not a solitary occurrence that took place at a certain time. In most cases, progress toward
recovery was made in fits and starts over the course of a considerable amount of time. This process was neither linear nor predictable in its
outcomes. The path to rehabilitation was different for each person who attempted it. The participants' descriptions of their own healing
experiences led to the development of a journey as a metaphor for describing this process. This metaphor was found to be a good picture of the
process. These experiences varied from overcoming unimaginable suffering (such as sexual assault at the hands of a parent, for example) to
becoming healers (such as therapists or social workers, for example) to being everyday heroes while having ongoing health concerns. Everyone
who took part in the trip went through the experience of suffering, which can be characterized as the sensation of sorrow one feels when their
integrity is called into question.

The appearance and degree to which the original wound creates pain depends on an individual's features, connections, and life stage.

Persistence and building a feeling of safety and trust help the road of healing for individuals. This enables the individual to develop new
connections to relationships including assisting others and obtain vital resources, like reframing, responsibility, and positivism. Between the
numerous connections formed and resources obtained, bridges grow. Over time, these connections and resources create optimism, self-
acceptance, and the desire to aid others, resulting in the intermittent emergence of a feeling of completeness and integrity that comprises
healing.
