WHAT ARE THE GOOD
INFLUENCE AND ADVANTAGES

According to what I know, one of the favorable outcomes was that universities
opened earlier. Only the Philippines had improved in civilization, wealth, and
populousness by 1820. Many schools were built as a result of the establishment
of schools. They instructed them on how to read, write, and speak English.
Furthermore, the positive impact is the significant contribution made by formal

education and founded scientific education, which Spaniards introduced into the
country. Agricultural methods were also taught in this epoch. According to
O F

Bartley's research, the Spanish also made contributions to the field of

engineering on the islands by building government buildings, churches, roads,

bridges, and forts, biology is highlighted. Among those who contributed to

science in the archipelago during the nineteenth century were botanists, Fr. Dr.

Ignacio Mercado. Furthermore, the Spaniards introduced Christianity and were

successful in converting the vast majority of Filipinos. At least 83% of the total

population practices Roman Catholicism. Spaniards brought not only the Catholic

religion to the Philippine islands but also its culture and cuisine. And the Spanish
influence on local cuisine is most visible during religious feasts, particularly at
Christmas. The period when the Philippines was under Spanish rule accounts for a
significant portion of its history. Spain ruled the Philippines for over 300 years, so
it's no surprise that many Filipino customs, traditions, and cultural norms can be
traced back to them. Subsequently, during the Spanish occupation, westernized
culture gradually infiltrated the Filipino way of life. Filipinos adopted Western
music, dance, art, recreation, and customs. Even their beliefs and perspectives on
life shifted away from Eastern Muslim philosophies and toward a more
westernized perspective.
