Postcards, for this lesson, consist of a greeting, mentions of the recent past, plans for the future, and
closing.

Problem: Students confuse the order of the details on the past and future.
Solution: Let students know that these are guidelines and not rules, however, it can be more helpful
readers to first know about what you have already done in your area.

Problem: Students confuse the word “present” in “present perfect” to mean the present.
Solution: Examine closer an example sentence and ask CCQs - “I’ve had a wonderful time so far.” -D
