GEN- Z'S DECLINING MENTAL HEALTH

Causes, Symptoms, Solutions, Trends

Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen. We are thankful to be here today and we are here
to talk about Gen-Z’s declining mental health. Gen-Z and Mental Health are two things
that are very prevalent today. They go hand-in-hand like butter and bread. Things, such as
anxiety and depression, are always discussed among older generations.

They say that mental health is only an excuse and that our generation only fakes it. Some
even say, and we quote, “In my generation, we aren’t sensitive snowflakes.” It’s easy for
some people to say that these disorders and illnesses aren’t real or that it’s all just an act –
some even decide to turn to the superstitious, putting all the blame on one’s lack of faith,
saying that it’s caused by some unholy figure such as ghosts or the devil itself. They say
that those things whispered into our generation’s ears. They always say those remarks
without even discovering what mental health is and its common disorders. You might ask
“Well, what is it all about?” Mental health, according to Merriam-Webster is; The general
condition of one’s mental health and emotional state. The factors that normally cause
depression and anxiety are family problems, bullying, substance abuse, lack of support
from family or friends, and low self-esteem.

My experience with anxiety was when I was living alone. I was experiencing anxiety. It
had me in shambles with insecurities, I was envious of my friend bonding with her
family. The things that i had felt all accounted to me having a nervous breakdown in my
own home. I coped with my anxiety in the way I'm just entertaining myself the way I
hang out with my friends just to relieve the sadness and the things that I'm passionate
about just so that I can be different and never again enter my mind that I'm alone. It's too
hard every day, especially when I eat alone, but I can handle it even if they're far away
from me. It's not easy being alone at first, yes, it's fun because you can do what you want
without limits, no one forbids you, but you can also imagine that it's difficult in that
situation, especially when you're alone again and you don't have anyone with you, but
with the help of I am with my friends and what I love to do. I have become more positive
in life and I am becoming more okay because I am able to face every challenge that
comes every day even if I am alone.

Good day everyone thank you so much for having me here today. I am really excited to
talk to all of you so let's begin. How's people suffering from mental illnesses during their
darkest times?

In my experience. The feeling of depression leaves one feeling lonely and isolated.
Whatever I do, it just goes wrong somehow and I end up blaming myself even if I am not
responsible for it. I feel, nothing is right. I don't feel like getting out of my bed. However,
that's only increasing your depression. If you are facing something similar or even worse,
please talk to someone whom you're close to, someone who you can trust and can
understand your issues without judging you for anything. That person can be anyone;
your parents, your sibling, your friend, your partner, or your teacher.

Sharing and discussing your problems might not solve your problems But, surely gives
you a bit of a relief and leaves you with a state of mind where you can think of some or
the other ways to get over this feeling. Don't run away from your problems. Because this
feeling of depression is a result of stressful situations occurring in your life. I believe
there's nothing wrong if you are depressed. It occurs because you are a bit more
sentimental and think more than others normally do. We all are different. We all tackle
situations in our own ways. So, don't worry. You cannot appreciate the beauty of a sunrise
until you've felt the intensity of the dawn. Keep happy! My best to all of you. Thank you!

The solutions that I believe could help reduce the symptoms of these mental conditions
are to entertain oneself, avoid isolation, and spend time with one's loved ones in order to
temporarily forget about the problems that one is currently experiencing. You should also
share your issues with folks you can trust so that you can receive constructive advice and
feedback.
