USB TO M12 ADAPTER DRIVER INSTALLATION

Application Description:
This document shows the procedure for installing the Driver for the USB to M12 adapter used with FMT(Festo Maintenance Tool) or FCT (Festo
Configuration Tool Software)

Step#1
Acquire the drivers for the USB adapter.
If you don’t have a new adapter, you may need to contact technical support for older drivers.
If you are installing a new adapter, you should have received the proper driver on a CD.
If you are installing onto a Windows 7 PC you will likely need to get the latest driver from the internet. Click the link to get to the shown
download area.

Step#2
Makes sure the software drivers are installed on your PC

If you have already installed the FMT(Festo


Maintenance Tool), the driver for new adapters
should already exist in the following directory

If you have Downloaded from the internet, you will


need to install the drivers to the same directory as
shown above

Plug in the USB adapter. You should observe the following screen pop-up. Select “YES”

You should observe the following screen pop-up. Click the option as shown, then select “NEXT”

You should observe the following screen pop-up. Click the “Have Disk” option as shown, then select the location of the driver based on
where you put it (how you acquired the file will determine the needs here). When you have selected the driver click on the “Next” button

You should observe the following screen pop-up. The drivers will now be installed.

To confirm the COM port the adapter is using along with other setting – open the “Device Manager” on your PC. The following should be
observed for a variety of Old/New adapters.
