What is Development?

Development can be described as a rise in capability or potential, whether it's growth, development,
advancement, or an increase in moral, psychological, or intellectual traits. The act or process of growing,
advancing, or developing is defined as "steady progress" and emphasises effective helping in hastening a
process or bringing about the intended conclusion. Further development is for the betterment of humanity.

What is Ethics?

Ethics is a field of analytical philosophy. Ethics is centred on well-established moral norms that dictate
what humans should do, generally regarding rights, duties, societal advantages, justice, or
unique qualities. There are predominantly two branches of ethics, the first one normative and the second
one descriptive. Ethics is a broad concept that deals with the behaviour of individuals at the societal level.

What is Morality?

Morality is a principle that governs the distinction between what is right and wrong or what is good and
bad behaviour. It is a specific set of ideals and rules of behaviour. Morality is a concept that deals with the
behaviour of a person at an individual level.

In what way the understanding of ‘Development Ethics’ will facilitate Rural Manager’s professional life?

Understanding the principles associated with 'Development Ethics' will enable a rural manager to make
ethical decisions that take into account all stakeholders' interests.
