I. INTRODUCTION
The way a person processes information is referred to as cognitive learning styles. It

refers to the preferred way of an individual to obtain knowledge and process

information. The term cognition refers to a person’s typical way of thinking, seeing,

remembering, or solving problems, as opposed to individual variances in ability. As a

benefit, the awareness of a person’s cognitive learning style will help them understand

informations in an effective way and that is crucial for a student in their academic

enhancement. The student’s awareness towards their own cognitive learning style is

beneficial to their academic performance, knowing their own cognitive learning style will

help them identify which method of learning and obtaining knowledge is effective for

them. One of the most important foundational elements for academic achievement is

knowing the psychology of our brains and how we process knowledge (where) more

effectively. Kelly Roel (2019). Understanding three various learning style according to

Fleming’s VAK (Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic) paradigm is one approach to be truly

successful and learn better in classroom. Students can utilize particular techniques to

help them remember why they learn best. Students who are fully aware of their own

cognitive learning preferences can help them comprehend the information they have

learn or studied without relying on memorization. Most of the time the reason why

students are having difficulties understanding a certain topic on a subject not because it

really is difficult and out of their learning capabilities, but because they are not using or

trying their preferred cognitive learning style. When it comes to Cognitive Learning

Styles, it has three types which is Visual, Auditory, and Kinesthetic (VAK). The visual

learning style includes learning through the sense of sight, as the name suggests. A

visual must visualize the information in order to retain it. They retain information better

when its organized and processed visually through the use of images, photos, maps

and diagrams. Reading or viewing images is how a visual learner learn, they learn and

retain information visually. They learn best when employing approaches that are mostly

visual since they can mentally envision what they are learning. Learning by hearing or

listening is referred to as Auditory learning and is a form of cognitive learning approach.

They perform exceptionally well in verbal presentations, listening to instructions, and

outlining concepts allowed in the normal lecture context of a classroom. The majority of

auditory learners are chatty. They are sensitive to nuances in tone that underpin verbal

meaning when conversing. A tactile hands-on learning method is known as kinesthetic

learning. Instead of reading a text or listening to a lecture or presentation, it is an active

type of learning centered on physical activity. Including motions when pretending new

information improves understanding for those who learn via touch. Kinesthetic learners

are enthusiastic and creative people. They have acquired coordination and are a dept at

athletic physical activities. This study focuses on the student part of learning, whereas it

aims to asses the influence of cognitive learning styles to the academic performances of

the students. It shall be examining select students to understand if certain learning

styles affect the way they excel in school. Furthermore, it also aims to asses the

difficulties faced by the students in understanding their lessons, and how they are able

to strategize in order to finally absorb knowledge.
