I am writing this statement to express my interest in applying to Don Mariano
Marcos Memorial State University’s law program. I believe my educational and
professional background are well curated to succeed in this program.
I have a strong interest in civil and criminal law, and I plan to pursue a career
as a public or private defendant after law school. For the past year, I have worked as
a criminal docket clerk at the Regional Trial Court Branch 31, Agoo, La Union. My
work here, although demanding and fast-paced, has only reaffirmed and deepened
my desire to become a lawyer and that my background and career goals fit very well
in this type of position. I know that the path to being a lawyer is tough, but I revel in
the opportunities to think outside the box, find new solutions and take on new
challenges with every case that I will encounter.
I strongly believe that becoming a lawyer will allow me to fulfill many personal
and professional goals. I also believe obtaining a law degree from your school and
program will give me the education I need to become a fair and ethical lawyer. Thank
