CHRISTMAS THEATER WORK

THE ANNUNCIATION (Luke 1, 26-38):

Track 1 CD el shadai until second 20.

NARRATOR: God sent the angel Gabriel to a town in Galilee called Nazareth to a virgin
betrothed to a man named Joseph, from the house of David. The Virgin was called Mary.
When she entered she told him:

SAN GABRIEL: Rejoice full of Grace the Lord is with you.

NARRATOR: She was disturbed by these words and wondered what that greeting meant.

SAINT GABRIEL: Do not be afraid, Mary, because you have found grace before God; you
will conceive in your womb and give birth to a son whom you will name Jesus. He will be
great, they will call him the son of the most high and the Lord God will give him the throne of
David his father; he will reign over the house of Jacob forever and his kingdom will have no
end.

NARRATOR: Mary responded to the Angel.

MARIA: How will this be possible if I don't know a man?

NARRATOR: The Angel answered him

SAINT GABRIEL: The holy spirit will come upon you and the power of the most high will
cover you with his shadow; that is why the one who is going to be born will be holy and will be
called the son of God. Look also, Isabel your relative has conceived a son in her old age and it
is already in the sixth month that she was considered sterile because nothing is impossible for
God. Maria said.

MARY: Behold the slave of the Lord; Let it be to me according to your word.

NARRATOR: And the Angel left her.

After finishing the scene SONG WAS IN NAZARETH OF GALILEE.

THE VISITATION (Luke 1, 39-45)

NARRATOR: In those days Miriam set out on her way and she quickly went to the
mountainous region to a town in Judah. I enter Zacarías's house and greet Isabel as soon as
Isabel hears Maria's greeting, the child in her womb jumps for joy; Isabel was filled with holy
spirit and exclaimed loudly:

ISABEL: Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb. Where did the
mother of my lord come to visit me? Because as soon as the voice of your greeting reached my
ears, the child in my womb jumped for joy. Happy the one who has believed that the things
that were said to her from the Lord will be fulfilled.
After finishing the Magnificat is sung (Luke 1 46-56).

Dream of Saint Joseph (Matthew 1,18-25)

NARRATOR: The origin of Jesus Christ was as follows. His mother, Maria, was married to
Jose, but before they began to be together, she found herself pregnant by the Holy Spirit. Her
husband Jose de ella, who was fair, but did not want to disgrace her, decided to disown her in
private. She had planned it that way, when the Angel of the Lord appeared to her in a dream
and said:

SAINT GABRIEL: Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary with you, your wife,
because what is begotten in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, whom you
will name Jesus, because he will save his people from his sins.

NARRATOR: All this happened so that what was said by the Lord through the prophet
would be fulfilled: the Virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will name him
Emmanuel, which translated means: God with us. Once he awoke from sleep, Joseph did as
the angel of the Lord had commanded him, and he took her wife with him but did not know
her until she gave birth to a son, whom he named Jesus.

Birth of Jesus and visit of the shepherds (Luke 2, 1-20)

NARRATOR: At that time, an edict by Cesar Augusto was published, ordering everyone to
register. This first registration took place while Cyrinus was governor of Syria. They all went
to register each one in his city. Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to
Judea, to the city of David, called Bethlehem, because he was from the house and family of
David, to register with Mary, his wife, who was pregnant.

While they were there she fulfilled the days of her delivery and she gave birth to her firstborn
son. She wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger because they had no
room in the hostel.

In the same region there were some shepherds who slept in the open and kept watch over
their flock at night. The Angel of the Lord appeared to them; the glory of the Lord enveloped
them in its light and they were filled with fear. The Angel told them:

SAINT GABRIEL: Do not fear, for I announce great joy to you, which will be for all the
people: Today in the city of David, a Savior has been born to you, who is Christ the Lord.

This will serve as a sign for you: you will find a child wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying
in a manger.

NARRATOR: Suddenly a multitude of the heavenly army joined the Angel, praising God
saying: Christmas carol (glory sing the cherubs).
Adoration of the Magi (Mt 2, 1ss)

NARRATOR: The wise men who had seen the star in the East went before them, until it came
and stopped over the place where the child was. Seeing the star, they rejoiced exceedingly
with great joy. Upon entering the house, they saw the child with Maria, his mother. Then they
fell down and worshiped him; They then opened his chest and offered him gifts of gold,
frankincense, and myrrh.
