India Invasions and migrations shaped India. Religion Hinduism. Conquered much
of Northern India. Babur was a military genius, a poet, and author of memoirs.
China China is the country with the longest interrupted history. Documented
everything until 1989. Tang and Song were the most powerful dynasties. Tang
and Song dynasty unified China. They created a bureaucracy. Early 1200s the
Mongolians came in China from the north. Needed 70 years to conquer south
China. Kublai Khan overthrown the last Song emperor in 1279. Khan ruled all
of China.
Korea Between 100 B.C. and A.D. 676, powerful local rulers forged three sperate
kingdoms. Koguryo, Paekche, and Silla. Shares same language and culture
background. Argued with one another or China. Monguls invaded Korea
between 1231 and the 1250s. 1258 Koryo made peace with Monguls.
Japan Japan is a chain of islands. For maid islands Hokkaido, Honshu, Kyushu, and
Shikoku. Culture is blending. Rival clans battled for control on the
countryside. These armies struggled for power, and Japan formed a feudal
system. 1274-1281 Mongols tried to invade Japan twice but were defeated by
the Japanese warriors with the help of divine wind. Exacerbated internal
weaknesses. New dynasty in 1338 but warfare increased after 2450. Daimyo
armed peasants as well as samurai. Led to more fightings.
The Silk Road Silk road reshaped lives of Africa and asia. Connected eastern Mediterranean
to central Asia.move back and forth between towns. China wealth came from
silk production. Used for clothes. The Mongols good at moving stuff around.
Most of trade were by caravan. Roman tried to ban silk. Fake silk puts out real
silk. Economic impact, Trading ideas.
