3. Jury of Executive Opinion:

This is the oldest and simplest method of sales forecasting. This method of sales forecasting is
created on the basis of the advertising ideas of the top executives. Top executives are asked to
give their opinion about future sales and then their views are averaged to arrive at a
representative forecast.

These officers are experienced persons belonging to production, finance, engineering, marketing
and research departments. Their collective opinion is more accurate as they are facts and figures
based on last year's sales as well as their vast experience.

4. Expert Opinion Method:

In this method of forecasting sales, well-informed persons other than buyers and a salesman, viz.
Directors of Industrial Establishments, Financial Managers, Technical Consultants, Distributors
etc. are requested to give their expert opinion about the future sales prospects of certain products.

They provide best information based on future demands and sales. They usually charge a
nominal fee for this work. In India, the National Council of Applied Research and many other
similar institutions are engaged in providing such expert opinions.

Application on Start-ups:
Sales projections will keep your start-up afloat and let you know when you have the funds to
scale up or add additional team contributors. Start where you can. It is beneficial to find out what
offers are in your sales team's pipeline and whether they expect to close them. Even if it is
wrong, it will start things up. Your forecast is constantly revised and increased like all the
various additives to your sales plan. You can be ready to capitalize on any opportunity if you see
it frequently while widening market corrections.

In my view, for a start-up, a mix of income force opinion approach and a look at the market
method should be used to estimate earnings. This is due to the fact that in any start-up, there are
certain uncertainties regarding the sales volume. This will be eliminated by the introduction of
market check method. Furthermore, while the income pressure feedback technique is
implemented, it will bring all stakeholders within the decision-making paradigm, helping start-
ups to build perfect family members along with their employees.

Finally, forecasting gives visibility into the data, allowing businesses to adjust and optimize
future predictions by optimizing resources. There are many tools that enhance a business's ability
to obtain information as well as an overview of how operations, processes, budgets and more are
