The Profile of a Modern Teacher

1. Choose to be Vulnerable
 Vulnerable modern teacher chooses to be open to criticism, moral attacks and other signs of
weaknesses in order to understand and learn better
2. See themselves as co-learners not teachers
 A teacher is a co-learners because he or she should have good communications skills to interact
effectively with learners and build a good rapport with them. Co-learners they see themselves as
the individual or group they are teaching not as teachers
3. Allow themselves to fail, often
 If we allow ourselves, and our students, the freedom to fail a little, it can lead us to lasting
success in the end.One of the best ways we can help students view their mistakes positively is by
teaching them to have a growth mindset. A growth mindset refers to the beliefs that our
talents, abilities, and intelligence can grow over time. Students with growth mindset tend to see
their mistakes as a valued part of the learning process and not something to be ashamed of.
4. Don’t wait until they’re experts to introduce something
 I you genuinely want something, just don’t wait for it, teach our self to be impatient.
5. Move into their students world, even if it’s foreign territory
 One of the best ways that you can connect the students to real-world experiences is to invite a
guest speaker into the classroom. Guest speaker who have wealth of knowledge and give
students a real insights into a specific topic.
6. Run towards their area of weakness, not away from it
 Just focus in developing of strength of every students, so they will grow faster than when trying
to improve their weaknesses. People who use their strengths are happier, less stressed, and
more confident. So if you’re finding or failing or falling short on the goals you’ve already strong
rather than focusing your efforts on getting better in the areas where you’re weak
7. Are comfortable not knowing what is going to happen
 Just like Eckhart said when you let go of your concept and knowledge, you can truly see the
beauty of things
8. Invites mistakes into their lives
 Every students will make mistakes in the learning process - it is inevitable. Mistakes could be
made in the execution of fundamental skills, decision making, or simply bad luck. Making the
mistakes is part of the learning process of every students it gives student realistics expectation
about their abilities and skills.
9. Dream big and ask” why not”
 Encouraging our student to Dream big we should always keep pushing them never stop after
achieving one goal, Working hard along with dreaming big is the real key.
10. Allow their students to teach each other
 The opportunity to teach your peers sends a powerful message. It says to student, you have
knowledge worth sharing, you have a teacher’s trust, and you have opportunity to support your
friends learning and growth. Students teaching students is an authentic way to build confidence,
leadership, and empathy.
11. Step outside their comfort zone
 Stepping outside students comfort zone means doing things that they don’t feel comfortable
with doing. Stepping out of their comfort zone can uncomfortable but going it can give them a
boost in the mental-health department.
12. Embrace change
 Let’s embrace change as best we can so that we can continue to help our students succeed in
this new world
13. Feel secure asking their colleagues for help
 Getting along with colleagues at school or in classroom is important for inspiring teamwork and
creating a healthy work environment. Helping students to other students is an important quality
of developing leadership.
14. Model resiliency and perseverance
 Developing resiliency and perseverance is enormously important to achieving the goals we set
ourselves. The word resiliency is about the mind set thought process to overcome challenge and
maintain focus and perseverance is the act of keeping going and going until you get there. So as
a future educator how do we build resiliency and perseverance, be a role model, helps our
students understand their talents, strengths and their areas of need and last Praise their efforts
as much as their accomplishment.

15. Question everything


 The modern teacher question everything and believe they can conform to anything, given the
right attitude.
16. Believe they can learn anything, given the right attitude and effort
 There is no doubt that you can learn anything to a particular level, but there are individuals
differences in capability which means that some people certainly won’t reach the same level of
expertise as others.
