1. INTRODUCTION
The scope of this procedure is to guide the technician through the correct final testing
procedure of the equipment.
2. VISUAL CHECK
1) Check the correct execution of the wiring.
2) Ensure that all the cables and connectors are correctly identified by the code or by
relevant number, in compliance with the electric diagram.
3) Check that the sections regarding the cables or the power bars are those
indicated in the relevant wiring list.
5) Check the correct position of the identification plates regarding: Circuit breakers /
Input - Output / Serial Ports
6) Check the presence and correctness of the fuses referring to the part list.
3. PRELIMINARY CHECKS
1) Ensure the wiring was properly carried out between connector M5 INT-UPS
N_FS3096 (PB259) phases L1-L2-L3 and their power bars 4-5-6 downstream from
fuses F1-F2-F3.
2) Check the correct wiring of the SCR FIRING board N_FS3002 (PB023) and their
relevant SCR’s.
3) Make sure the gates of the Booster IGBT’s are properly wired:
4) Make sure the gates of the Inverter IGBT’s are properly wired:
5) Check the correct wiring between CNB of the PS-600 card N_FS3100 (PB299)
and the power bars +R, 46, -R.
8) Connect the external power supply to connector CN220 of the N_FS3056 (PB216)
card.
9) Feed the unit and check the feeding of the following cards:
9b) that LEDs 3-4-5 DLN1 1DLP1 DLSS and LED 7-8-9 DLN2 1DLP2 on the
DT-CPU-RI card (PB298) are on;
9c) that leds LD 3-4 of all ID cards N_FS3038 (PB246) are on.
NOTE
At the first connection of the equipment there will be an initial error “EEPROM ERROR
73”. Generally the EEPROM error will be displayed by the software even after the
correct setting of the parameters. In order to verify the new parameter settings it is
required to restart the equipment and read the EEPROM through the software.
Below is indicated as memo, for the person who caries out the test, a table with the
equivalence between number and language of the equipment. This table can change
between various firmware versions. For safety, always refer to the manual annexed to the
EEPROM Manager.

Set the jumpers of the INT-UPS N_FS3096 (PB259) card according to the table listed
below:

The test procedure expects to use the software interface UPS ANALYZER, to enter the
commands via “Command Line” box or, alternatively, to use the buttons that will be
enabled during the procedure.
All the commands consist of a structure of 4 letters followed by 3 numbers in the
following format:
LLLLXXX
The command letters can be either capital or small. When entering any valid command,
a double acceptance beep will sound.
The buttons and the settings to be carried out are indicated for each step of the test
procedure. Equal commands are indicated between brackets in order to carry out the
same function upon activation of the button.
The indication xxx stands for the value to be set, for instance the value read for the
measurement. E.g. TVIRxxx means that if the voltage reading is 229V, the command to
enter is TVIR229.
2) Type ZERI000 to set the measurement zeroes, confirm via the OK button for the
confirmation of the zeroing command and check that the entering command
corresponds to an acoustic acquisition tone.
2a) Alternatively to the point above press F3, confirm via the OK button for the
confirmation of the zeroing command and check that the entering command
corresponds to an acoustic acquisition tone.
3) Press MEEE000 to save the above and check that the entering command
corresponds to an acoustic acquisition tone.
3a) Alternatively to the point above press F4 and check that the entering
command corresponds to an acoustic acquisition tone.
4) Make sure the Test Mode is acquired checking from the UPS display and from the
interface “Status Bar”.
4a) Press button “Set Clock” in the “Commands” frame to synchronize the
UPS date and time with the PC date and time.
5) Reset the count hours of service with the commands RCNH000 and RCNH001.
6) Check the correct operation of the auxiliary contacts (OCB, BYP-SW, BCB, etc.)
by checking the presence/absence of the corresponding signals/alarms. Inputs

7) Press the Ctrl buttons and button no. 1 (Ctrl-1) (BMOD002 IMOD002). Check the
occurred acquisition by pressing button “Test Preliminary” in the Commands
section.
10) For each IGBT check the wave shape between E and G via an oscilloscope.
11) Press button IGBT Off (TSTB000) and make sure all the red led’s on the ID
boards N_FS3038 (PB246) are off.
ATTENTION
If the positive wave amplitude is not +16V (+/-0.5V) regulate RV2 of PS600 board until
you reach that value.
12) Press the TEST button in the Inverter section and check the correct firing
sequence of the IGBT’s as shown on the panel, green LED’s. (TSTI000 TSTI200
TSTI300 TSTI320 TSTI330 TSTI332 TSTI333)
14) Press button IGBT Off (TSTI000) and make sure all the red led’s on the ID boards
N_FS3038 (PB246) are off.
4) Press button SCR On (PRON000) and make sure the 4 LED’s DL1, DL2, DL3 and
DL4 of the SCR FIRING card light gradually – precharging phase; after 12
seconds also DL5 and DL6 will light – full activation of the SCR bridge.
5) Make sure that after 5 seconds from the full activation of the SCR bridge, this is
switched off. If the SCR bridge is not switched off, press SCR Off (PROF000) and
remove the cause of the fault.
6) Restore the connection on connector M1. Connect the VAC source on the input
terminals of the UPS. Set voltage to 230 VAC +/- 10%.
7) Place a tester on the positive bar and the other tester on the negative bar of the
capacitor bank.
8) Close RCB.
9) Press button SCR On (PRON000) and check the precharging phase of the
capacitive bank until the full activation of the SCR bridge. The read voltages must
be of about 275Vdc +/- 10 %. After 5 seconds from the full activation of the SCR
bridge, make sure it has shut down.
11) Press the Ctrl button and button no. 3 (Ctrl-3) (BMOD001 IMOD000). Check the
AUTOMATIC mode of the rectifier and the MANUAL mode of the Inverter.
13) Measure the voltage of phase L1 compared with the neutral wire and set the value
in the corresponding box. Press button Set to enter the setting command.
(TVIRxxx).
14) Measure the voltage of phase L2 compared with the neutral wire and set the
value in the corresponding box. Press button Set to enter the setting command.
(TVISxxx).
15) Measure the voltage of phase L3 compared with the neutral wire and set the value
in the corresponding box. Press button Set to enter the setting command.
(TVITxxx).
19) Make sure the dc voltage rises up to 680 Vdc +/- 1%. Wait a few seconds for the
voltage to stabilize.
20) Measure the voltage of the positive capacitor bank, type the value of the reading
in the corresponding box and press Set (TVBPxxx).
21) Measure the voltage of the negative capacitor bank, type the value of the reading
in the corresponding box and press Set (TVBNxxx).
23) Check the correct setting of minimum voltage on the WRC-BRIDGE card. Lower
the input voltage via the variac to about 185Vac and make sure the Booster shuts
down. Make sure the SCR’s shut down at 170Vac (if they do not, rotate
potentiometer P1 on the PB295 board counterclockwise until they shut down).
25) Switch the SCR bridge off by pressing SCR Off (PROF000).
5) Press button SCR On (PRON000); when voltage exceeds 250 Vdc press button
SCR Off (PROF000).
6) Wait for the capacitive bank to discharge at around 100 Vdc and start the inverter
modulation by pressing Inverter On (INON000).
8) Check the presence of sinusoidal voltage on phase R via an oscilloscope, until the
Vdc has completely discharged.
10) Perform a precharge by pressing SCR On (PRON000). Wait for the capacitive
bank to precharge and for the activation of the whole SCR bridge.
20) Perform a precharge by pressing SCR On (PRON000). Wait for the capacitive
bank to precharge and for the activation of the whole SCR bridge.
22) Modulate the three phases by pressing the “+” button on the vertical modulation
bar (MANI020 20% modulation) and check the correct wave form on the three
phases.
23) Press button Inverter Off (INOF000) to shut down the inverter.
24) Insert the instantaneous value control by pressing Corrector On (CORR001) and
check the control insertion from the indicator led.
26) Modulate the three phases by pressing the “+” button on the vertical modulation
bar (MANI020 20% modulation) and check the correct wave form on the three
phases.
27) Increase the modulation by pressing the “+” button, until the inverter nominal
voltage is reached. (MANI050 50 % approx.).
30) Press Inverter On (INON000) to start the inverter, and make sure the inverter
voltages reach the nominal value approximately.
31) Measure the inverter voltages with a tester and set outputs R, S and T via the
potentiometers on the INT-UPS board (P1, P2, P3) until the nominal value is
reached.
32) Measure the inverter voltage of phase R and set the value in the corresponding
box. Press button Set to enter the setting command. (TIFRxxx).
33) Measure the inverter voltage of phase S and set the value in the corresponding
box. Press button Set to enter the setting command. (TIFSxxx).
34) Measure the inverter voltage of phase T and set the value in the corresponding
box. Press button Set to enter the setting command. (TIFTxxx).
36) Make sure the inverter voltages are correctly displayed on the screen.
37) Press button Close SSI On (SION000) to start the inverter static switch.
38) Check the output wave forms and the correct operation of all fans.
39) Measure the output voltage of phase R and set the value in the corresponding
box. Press button Set to enter the setting command. (TUFRxxx).
40) Measure the output voltage of phase S and set the value in the corresponding
box. Press button Set to enter the setting command. (TUFSxxx).
41) Measure the output voltage of phase T and set the value in the corresponding box.
Press button Set to enter the setting command. (TUFTxxx).
43) Make sure the output voltages are correctly displayed on the screen.
2) Close SBCB.
4) Measure the Bypass voltage of phase R and set the value in the corresponding
box. Press button Set to enter the setting command. (TBFRxxx).
5) Measure the Bypass voltage of phase S and set the value in the corresponding
box. Press button Set to enter the setting command. (TBFSxxx).
6) Measure the Bypass voltage of phase T and set the value in the corresponding
box. Press button Set to enter the setting command. (TBFTxxx).
8) Make sure the bypass voltages are correctly displayed on the screen.
9) Press button Close SSB (SBON000) to close the bypass static switch.
11) Press button Open SSB (SBOF000) to open the bypass static switch.
13) Disconnect the external power supply from the PS600 board.
3a) Check that the RCB, SBCB, MBCB and OCB switches are open and the
service switch is in “Manual” position.
3c) Switch the service switch from “Manual” to “Service” and check that the micro
controller is powered and the micro controllers power up correctly; LED1 and
LED2 of PB298 card must flash.
3d) Switch the service switch to “Normal” and check the complete shut down of
the equipment.
3f) Switch the switch to “Service” and check that the equipment remains shut
down.
3g) Switch the switch to “Normal” and close SBCB switch; the equipment will be
supplied but the micro controller card will result not supplied except in the Static
Switch section.
3h) Close the FR fuse and check the correct supply of the micro controller card
and the correct power up of the micro controllers(LED1 and LED2 of PB298 card
must flash).
3i) Open bypass switch and check the shutdown of the equipment.
4a) Switch the service switch to “Service” and check that the micro controller card
is properly supplied and that the micro controllers power up correctly (LED1 and
LED2 of PB298 card must flash).
4b) Enter the TEST MODE (SW1-Dip3 ON) on the INT-UPS and press the
RESET SW1 button on the micro controller board.
4c) Connect the PC to the UPS and check that the test has been passed
correctly.
4d) Connect the CAN-BUS and RS485 testing equipment to the equipment with
the connectors listed below:

4f) Check with the testing equipment the functioning of communication ports (for
further information refer to the testing equipment instructions).
4h) Restore the normal functioning mode (SW1-Dip3 OFF) INT-UPS card.
4i) Switch the service switch to “Normal” and check the complete shutdown of the
equipment.
6) Connect an oscilloscope between TP2 (GND) and R15 of the INT-UPS board
(inverter current reading).
7) Close RCB.
8) Wait for the inverter to start. Close OCB but do not close SBCB and BCB.
9) Make sure the inverter current has got the following wave form:
10) Apply a load step equaling 100% of the nominal output current.
11) Make sure a 4V return signal of the inverter current is present on TP2.
13) Measure the output current of phase R and set the value in the corresponding box.
Press button Set to enter the setting command. (TCFRxxx).
14) Measure the output current of phase S and set the value in the corresponding box.
Press button Set to enter the setting command. (TCFSxxx).
15) Measure the output current of phase T and set the value in the corresponding box.
Press button Set to enter the setting command. (TCFTxxx).
17) Measure the input current of phase R and set the value in the corresponding box.
Press button Set to enter the setting command. (TCIRxxx).
18) Measure the input current of phase S and set the value in the corresponding box.
Press button Set to enter the setting command. (TCISxxx).
19) Measure the input current of phase T and set the value in the corresponding box.
Press button Set to enter the setting command. (TCITxxx).
21) Make sure the input and output currents are correctly displayed on the screen.
22) Make sure the wave form of the input currents is similar to the one shown in the
figure below:
23) Measure the input THD and make sure it is lower than 5%.
24) Take the load higher than 100% and make sure the Overload alarm is displayed
on the screen.
25) Apply one more load step in order to take the output into limitation mode and
make sure the current stabilizes to 150% approx.
26) Remove the overload and make sure the output returns within tolerance.
28) Apply the short circuit for less then 5 seconds and check the limitation.
29) Apply the short circuit for more then 5 seconds, check the limitation and the shut
down of the UPS.
32) Close SBCB and wait for the inverter to synchronize with the mains measuring a
ΔV ≤ 20V (+/-10%) between Inverter and Mains.
33) Carry out a commutation test by means of the Bypass Switch (position it on BY-
PASS), verify that the static bypass voltage is supplied on the output; reposition
the Bypass Switch on NORMAL, wait for about 10" and check that the inverter
returns to supply the output.
34) Repeat the test of the point above more than 5 times until the UPS blocks itself on
Static Bypass.
35) Make sure isolator MBCB has been correctly wired and close it. Make sure the
inverter modulation shuts down, open OCB, make sure the inverter modulation is
on and that the output mains is present.
36) Open MBCB, close OCB and switch the BYPASS SW to normal.
37) Type RESE000 and check that the entering command corresponds to an acoustic
acquisition tone. Check that the blocked situation is removed and that the inverter
returns to supply the output. Open SBCB.
3) Close BCB.
6) Measure the current delivered by the Battery and set the value in the
corresponding box. Press button Set to enter the setting command. (TCBAxxx).
7) Change the load on the output and check the linearity of the current reading.
9) Discharge the battery so that it goes into current limitation mode during the
charging phase.
10) After the battery is discharged, close RCB and make sure the battery current is
the one that was set during the configuration of the EEPROM parameters.
3) Make sure the voltage of the capacitive bank does not drop below 550 Vdc.
4) Make sure the Booster remains on and that the alarm “A6 Battery in Test” is
activated in the alarm section of the UPS Analyzer software.
5) Wait 70 seconds and make sure the rectifier slowly returns to its nominal voltage.
2) Make sure the load has been switched to the Emergency line.
Carry out the return procedure from Manual Bypass closing the input circuit breaker
RCB and following the instructions on the front Panel, until the system is started
completely.
12.2 SETTING CHECK OF THE UPS INTERNAL CLOCK
Access the “SPECIAL -> CLOCK SETTING” menu on the UPS front panel and make
sure the displayed date and time are correct.
In case the displayed date and time are not correct, adjust them manually.
12.3 ERASURE OF THE UPS LOG
Connect to the UPS via the “UPS Analyzer” software and type command “REHI000”.
Make sure the UPS signals that the command has been correctly received via an
acoustic signal.
Alternatively, erase the log by accessing the “SPECIAL -> RESET LOG” menu on the
UPS front panel.
