4. FIRMWARE DOWNLOAD AND PARAMETER CONFIGURATION

1) Download the Rectifier and Inverter Firmware via the TRIPROG program. Refer to
the TRIPROG Manual for the correct procedures and checks.

2) Configure the UPS parameters via the EEPROM Manager program.

Figure 1 – EEPROM Manager

The EEPROM parameters must be configured during the test in accordance with the
production documentation of the UPS. Alternatively, the configuration file filename.ECF
can be uploaded.

NOTE
At the first connection of the equipment there will be an initial error “EEPROM ERROR
73”. Generally the EEPROM error will be displayed by the software even after the
correct setting of the parameters. In order to verify the new parameter settings it is
required to restart the equipment and read the EEPROM through the software.

Below is indicated as memo, for the person who caries out the test, a table with the
equivalence between number and language of the equipment. This table can change
between various firmware versions. For safety, always refer to the manual annexed to the
EEPROM Manager.

The command letters can be either capital or small. When entering any valid command,
a double acceptance beep will sound.
The buttons and the settings to be carried out are indicated for each step of the test
procedure. Equal commands are indicated between brackets in order to carry out the
same function upon activation of the button.
The indication xxx stands for the value to be set, for instance the value read for the
measurement. E.g. TVIRxxx means that if the voltage reading is 229V, the command to
enter is TVIR229.

inverter modulation shuts down, open OCB, make sure the inverter modulation is
on and that the output mains is present.

36) Open MBCB, close OCB and switch the BYPASS SW to normal.

37) Type RESE000 and check that the entering command corresponds to an acoustic
acquisition tone. Check that the blocked situation is removed and that the inverter
returns to supply the output. Open SBCB.

10. BATTERY CURRENT SETTING

1) Carry out the start-up procedure of the UPS until the load is fed by the inverter.

2) Press button Current Setting.

3) Close BCB.

4) Open RCB so that the inverter is supplied by the battery.

5) Connect a load on the output in order to discharge the battery.

6) Measure the current delivered by the Battery and set the value in the
corresponding box. Press button Set to enter the setting command. (TCBAxxx).

7) Change the load on the output and check the linearity of the current reading.

8) Press Memo (MEEE000) to save the setting.

9) Discharge the battery so that it goes into current limitation mode during the
charging phase.

10) After the battery is discharged, close RCB and make sure the battery current is
the one that was set during the configuration of the EEPROM parameters.

11. BATTERY TEST

1) Wait for the battery to be charged to its nominal value.

2) Select the Battery test on the front panel (SPECIAL Menu).

3) Make sure the voltage of the capacitive bank does not drop below 550 Vdc.

4) Make sure the Booster remains on and that the alarm “A6 Battery in Test” is
activated in the alarm section of the UPS Analyzer software.

5) Wait 70 seconds and make sure the rectifier slowly returns to its nominal voltage.

6) Open the Battery circuit breaker.

12. FINAL TESTS

12.1 RESTART FROM MANUAL BY-PASS
Carry out the load transfer procedure to Manual Bypass:

1) Position the selector “NORMAL-BYPASS” on Bypass.

2) Make sure the load has been switched to the Emergency line.

3) Close MBCB and check the block of the inverter modulation.

4) Open RCB and BCB.

5) Open SBCB and OCB.

Carry out the return procedure from Manual Bypass closing the input circuit breaker
RCB and following the instructions on the front Panel, until the system is started
completely.
12.2 SETTING CHECK OF THE UPS INTERNAL CLOCK
Access the “SPECIAL -> CLOCK SETTING” menu on the UPS front panel and make
sure the displayed date and time are correct.
In case the displayed date and time are not correct, adjust them manually.
12.3 ERASURE OF THE UPS LOG
Connect to the UPS via the “UPS Analyzer” software and type command “REHI000”.
Make sure the UPS signals that the command has been correctly received via an
acoustic signal.
Alternatively, erase the log by accessing the “SPECIAL -> RESET LOG” menu on the
UPS front panel.
